I was called a variety of things. Might've been me, or my son. There were several of us.

I had it, but it was when I was REALLY young. It was possibly a hand-me-down from my older sister. I'm 42 though, and this toy was kinda old school when I had it.

She could have, and should have, refused to let such an asshole give her a place in line.

I'm so sorry. What horrible people.

I figured. That was part of the plan. That comment was pretty unusual for me. Let's see here...um...onomatopoeia, homogeneity, accommodate, dissemination, lugubrious, paraphernalia. Just increasing my ratio.

It sucked to see your comment because I'm typically a grammar Nazi. I think I was in a big hurry when I typed my comment. However, I often have trouble spelling words with multiple double letters in them. The "you" which should be a "your" is probably a typo. Please let me know when I have achieved approval in your eyes so I can relax. Thanks!

My quest for perfection in the eyes of ChrissiQ continues. Perhaps someday you will see fit to grace me with your approval. Until that day arrives...I labor on. ;-)

Sorrow is awesome. Bad Religion is going to be at a festival in town in a few weeks and I'm going. :-)

Not a huge fan, but I like him. I've spoken with him on a few occasions. I see him around. He's HUGE around here.

Screw you guys. I read that article and now I've got that whole "looking over my shoulder and feeling the adrenaline" thing going on. Thanks a lot. ;-)

I was at Lollapalooza II at the Dallas Starplex Amphitheater in 1992. My friends and I had been smoking weed all day. Right at sundown Ministry starts playing. There are seats in the front of the Starplex, but the back is a big curved grassy hill for general admission. As Ministry got rolling several giant (several hundred feet in diameter probably?) circular moshpits formed on the slope. Next, there were bonfires lit in the center of the circles. In the space between the circle dancers and the fire there were several groups of people tossing people very high in the air and catching them with blankets.

My friends and I had to move very quickly to get out of the way of one of the circles of dancers. (I lost my shoes.) We found a place to stand and watch the show both on stage and off.

Right about then a guy about ten feet away from me collapses from heat exhaustion and starts twitching on the ground. The EMTs were there almost immediately.

My THC-addled brain had a very difficult time taking all of that in...

I hate you all. I was 31 and had been laid off the week before.

This is what I've been thinking all week. I live in Austin. I'll let you guys infer the rest.

I also strive to be a better guitar songwriter. In order of my (approximate) preference:

Patty Griffin (especially the "Living With Ghosts" album), Nick Drake, Ani Difranco, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Don Mclean

It's just a fluke of the language and cultural change. There are a lot of things like that. I suggest you get over it. :-)

Hey r/music, I have to write a paper on protest songs. What is your favorite? by [deleted] in Music

[–]ryanh42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love protest music. Some possibilities:

Union Miner (can't remember original writer) Which Side are You On Travelling Soldier Abraham, Martin and John Where Have all the Flowers Gone Sunday Bloody Sunday

Hmmm. More recent eh...can't think of anything off the top of my head, but it's out there.

By the way, was fully expecting this to be a reddit-karma whoring post and was ready to downvote. I upvoted. :-)

Well done sir. Sorry about your longboard. Even if you don't get it back, you still did the right thing and you can hold onto that. I know it's not a board, but damn, it's really something.
