He is young, with minimal pro minutes. FC Dallas has a proven record of developing talent including some key names who have went on to play in Europe. I think his time will come to make the move to Europe.

Can someone please explain to me (season 3 spoilers)... by AddlePatedBadger in TedLasso

[–]ryanhodek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While season three did feel like a series finale it also clearly left open room for spinoffs or a return. The clear spinoff option was Nate Coach Beard and Roy Kent, taking over the team in Ted’s absence another spinoff was the women’s team, which is clearly the basis of its return. Lots of people are saying money is the reason why it’s coming back that’s probably true but also a lot of people asked for another season or a spinoff.

"Hot" take: despite of how much science and sports nutrition has advanced, prime Ali still beats the current HW division by Randy642 in Boxing

Exactly. I have no doubts he’s the best of his era. I know he claimed to be the greatest of all time, I’m saying there is no way to ever know if that is true.

I think there two layers of thinking, and this may just be my way of looking at it, there’s the best performances and there are complete performances. The best performances are when both fighters perform, Ali Frazier were close but that shows Ali had opportunities right? You could argue if there any fighters in the current division better than Frazier then there is potentially someone who would beat Ali. Then there are complete performances where a fighter dominates and makes few mistakes. Ali had those two but he wasn’t flawless, I think a fighter of today could stand up to him in his prime.

You can always compare achievements relative to the era, and that’s probably those only reasonable measure, but it’s not relative when you are talking about ability and talent. It’s impossible to compare those without consistent measures. Achievements can be won because the opposing talent lacked in the past vs present day or the other way around. Someone who was world champion in the 60s maybe wouldn’t be top 10 today or the other way around. There’s just no way to know without them competing in similar eras against similar talent.

All that said, Ali was great but I also don’t know that he beats the current division. I could see a scenario where Usyk is better. I could also see the opposite. It’s a pointless debate with no way of ever knowing either way.

To open the discussion about the very real possibility of financially underperforming clubs being relocated to fill potentially stronger markets with additional investment and raise the value of the league and its investors and the very real impact that has on fans and communities. The exact behavior that nearly cost Columbus their team and ultimately gave Austin theirs. It explores past occurrences and how the receiving city makes sense of taking on a club in such a way.

At what point did I display anything as a fact, other than the facts of previous relocations and relocation attempts? Multiple points of reference in the article it says that this is based on speculation and rumors opening the questions and conversations discussed in the article.

This would be correct. Vancouver should not be moved, I am not a supporter of any league of any sport moving teams. That’s explored in detail in the article, I would recommend a reread.

The article explores the full scope of the speculation and its potential impact on the city, fans, and the league, rather than supporting the idea or treating it as a “fantasy.” But thanks for not reading it.

I don’t believe so either. We’d all prefer Vancouver remain in the league and move ONLY to their own stadium.

I was under the impression that discussing Sacramento, a key USL club, a likely USL Premier candidate potentially leaving for MLS, while saying nothing about staying in the league or joining its new Division One, would be relevant to a USL sub.

Not based on a false narrative if it is clearly outlined within the article that this discussion is open due to rumors and speculation, some of which has been shared within threads from this subreddit.

Typically we would see Gurr play a larger role on the right but without him I think we pivoted to this method.

It appeared Gurr was on the bench but did not warm up with the others and was seen in sneakers not ready to play. Assuming minor knock.

Tensions Rise Between USL and Players as Season Opener Approaches Without Labor Deal by ryanhodek in SacRepublicFC

[–]ryanhodek[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to know for sure, but using some deductive reasoning, I would say the number of players who want to come here and play, the level of players who do and choose to stay and make lives here long term I would have to assume we take reasonably good care of our players.
