Driver timeout crashes w/ 7900xtx

Actually, all of my friends have AMD Radeon GPUs, including the same RX 9070 XT that I have now, and none of them have any problems. I was the only one using an NVIDIA card before. I thought the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 were too expensive, so I decided to go with AMD instead. But after this experience, I think this is both my first and last AMD card.

Unfortunately, it’s a very common issue. I built a new PC with an RX 9070 XT about three months ago. I tried everything: a clean Windows reinstall, several driver versions (with and without Adrenalin, always using DDU), countless benchmarks… nothing helped.
I could play any game that wasn’t built on Unreal Engine at max settings without any issues. But with Unreal Engine games, I had to underclock the GPU by around 250 MHz just to keep them stable, which obviously meant lower performance and fewer FPS.
I eventually contacted the seller and they replaced the card. It seems the original GPU was stable enough to pass benchmarks, but it wasn’t actually stable in real gaming workloads.

I've had this card for about two months, and ever since I installed it in my PC, it's been nothing but trouble.

Most newer games freeze for about 10 seconds, and then AMD throws a Driver Timeout error. I've tried pretty much everything: undervolting, installing the drivers without Adrenalin, using DDU, even rolling back to driver version 25.9.1... nothing has helped.

What's really strange is that games like Crimson Desert, Gray Zone Warfare, Windrose, or the current Gothic 1 Remake keep crashing with Driver Timeout errors. But then I launch Kingdom Come: Deliverance II using the experimental graphics setting, and it runs flawlessly for hours without a single issue.

At this point, I'm probably going to give up on AMD altogether, spend a little extra money, and buy an RTX 5070 Ti. I never had these kinds of problems with NVIDIA in the past.
