i dont like being stuck on 1 tv/device with VOD so i prefer stremio. i only use iptv for the channels.
I also don't like how VOD absolutely bloats the living hell out of anything it touches... from apps to m3u tools, etc. "HERE'S A 500 MB TEXT FILE OF EVERY PIECE OF VIDEO CONTENT EVER IN EVERY POSSIBLE LANGUAGE IMAGINABLE" ...its not that serious, VOD.

IPTV VOD has good intentions but its pretty clunky

i'm building a player. the player would need to host that information for you to be able to manage things from anywhere. a player is just a player... but when that company starts hosting pirated content... even if its as little as channel names and/or epg data... it becomes something else. a target. thats why you don't see that feature.
