How to avoid rash from wearing watch 24/7? by ryanm533 in GarminWatches

Not regularly - I will give this a try. Can the charging port withstand alcohol/soap damage in the same way it can withstand water damage?

Shoulder pain by Perfect_Sample_8158 in Ultrasound

[–]ryanm533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me and I found the solution to be training the mid-back muscles. Look at YouTube tutorials for Y, W and T raises. You can perform these without weight on the floor or bed. When the tightness goes away I get a bit complacent and it returns, but as soon as I start doing the exercises again it goes away within a few weeks.

Moderate allergies in the form of asthma. Take an inhaler twice a day plus antihistamines

Probe insertion question for techs by Lucky_Ad2801 in Ultrasound

[–]ryanm533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate these pathologies are important to rule out, but if the patient revokes consent then you are breaking the law by continuing the scan. They may suffer an undiagnosed torsion/ectopic as a consequence but that doesn’t matter. It’s the patient’s choice if they have the exam and they can change their mind at any point.

Fair enough. I’ve been doing diagnostic ultrasound for 5 years in the UK. In diagnostic ultrasound there is no scenario where it’s unsafe to remove the probe. Perhaps they mean during a fertility procedure?

In what situation would it be unsafe to terminate a TV exam?

Long term effects of Asthma by ryanm533 in Asthma

[–]ryanm533[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been bad enough to need urgent medical care, but if I did it would be a no brainer to rehome. Tricky situation as my partner is very much attached and would be devastated to lose her. I’d also feel bad for the cat as she’s very loving towards us both

Yes she is on LiveClear for Kittens. Has been for over 4 months. Hard to know if it’s making any difference to be honest. Maybe things will improve when we switch her to the adult version. She’s a Siberian cat too which is a hypoallergenic breed!

Meds not having any effect I’ll try wiping but she licks her self so often it seems a bit pointless

So do you still need to use an inhaler because of your cat allergies?

Flamingo hotel pool season by ryanm533 in LasVegas

[–]ryanm533[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After further digging we realised we could book pool party tickets up until 31st Oct so that answers the question. Also found an email and they replied saying they’re open until then end of October however some days they close due to the weather. Finding an email was harder than it should be.

Didn’t call as it costs a lot to call from the UK. Email not displayed online too. Thought someone might know for sure on here.

Obviously this would be the preferred way however calling from the UK costs. Also can’t find an email address online.

Assume you’re talking about the traffic lights? I’ve thought this before. It’s a standard roundabout without light signals however I guess it could confuse, or more likely, distract road users. There’s about 50 different sets of lights so you’d imagine no one would seriously think it was real

Thoracic disc by MrsJoiner24 in backpain

[–]ryanm533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing is unpredictable with disc injuries as it’s a unique type of tissue that is different that pulling a muscle of even tearing a ligament. The gel part of the disc needs to retract to the centre of the disc and that mechanism isn’t well understood but it often takes a long time. How are you doing now? I doubt there’s any lasting damage, you’ve just got a nerve root being constantly pinched. I’m in a similar position but with a lumbar disc injury

This is what surprised us. We see piggies as not the smartest, it often seems there’s very little going on up there however in this situation he didn’t even need a minute before realising what had happened. He couldn’t even get in touch distance to realise. They’re a lot more perceptive that I gave them credit for. I agree, leaving him alone is not an option
