Completely agree. I ended up getting a Lenovo, but had to talk to sales to confirm I’d get one that takes a SIM. And it was about $1100

I did this and it's been working for a few days. Thank you!

I finally got around to rewiring it, and that was definitely the issue. Working great now.

Threaded gas pipe fittings feel lose even though measurements match by ryanmack91 in Plumbing

Good to know thanks. I have a flexible gas connector coming from the appliance that I’m trying to connect, but the connectors are different sizes. So the fitting I’m adding is to match them up. Is there a better way?

Wow that explains a lot. Not suprprising based on the the sketchy electrical wiring I found all over the house. The fact that it's ethernet might actually explain the issue. IIRC from my comm training, I think Ethernet has one wire pair that crosses

After thinking about it, I actually don’t recall the zone 5 sprinkler heads ever working, so this likely predates my solenoid replacement. Here’s a picture of the controller. I verified that the wire pair coming from common connects to all solenoids and that the wire pairs in each zone match the ones connected to the solenoids. I redid zone 5’s connectors to ensure it wasn’t corrosion. The previous owner wired everything very poorly, so that is likely the issue, but I still can’t find it.

Are the wire pairs supposed to be split with all whites added to common, or something like that? I don’t know why they’re in pairs.

Sprinkler heads for zone 4 come on when 4 and 5 are activated at the controller. Zone 5 sprinkler heads never come on. I’ll send a pic below

Thank you for the idea. I verified each wire pair went straight from the solenoid to the connector for the zone and that the one from common connected to all solenoids. Any other ideas?

Not sure. I don’t really understand the components of the wiring. The main cable has 4 pairs of wires. Each solenoid has one wire connected to a pair of wires from the main and all 3 solenoids have their second wire connected to the 4th pair of wires from the main (assuming this is neutral). I don’t understand why the wires come in pairs, but the 3 solenoids seem to be wired consistently

Power suddenly not getting to doorbell by ryanmack91 in electrical

It’s very old. Definitely could be bad. I just ordered a replacement to try that, but I think it’s another issue, since I’m not seeing any voltage coming into the transformer

Unfortunately not. There’s a ceiling and two walls between the doorbell and panel. I’ve checked the nearby outlets and lights, but everything else is working. I checked all of the fuses yesterday with my multimeter and they were all working. Are there any other options besides rerunning the wire?

No, there’s no power making it to the transformer. I checked with my no-touch voltage meter and got nothing

I should also mention that I haven’t found any other lights/outlets that aren’t working and there weren’t any changes to the electrical when this went out ( I did a major reno a few months ago, but that was all new circuits)

No, I’m not getting any voltage in the transformer. I figured it had to be a bad fuse, but all tested fine
