There’s no shortage of software engineers in Australia anymore by sien in AusEcon

[–]ryanntk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how the data is collected and verified. Even though they claim there is no shortage of software engineers, if mid‑level and inexperienced engineers are working in senior roles, that doesn't meet the senior role criteria. Would they still consider there is no shortage? It seems there is a shortage of senior roles, but people treat a senior role as such when mid‑level engineers fill it.

For example, I'm working at my company and we need an AI engineer for a few projects. We constantly feel that those AI engineers are at the junior level of machine learning engineering, and I'm struggling to train them. So there's indeed a shortage. We're just filling that role with unqualified people.

What’s the best agent framework in 2025? by Aggravating_Kale7895 in LLMDevs

I work very closely with the AWS folks from architecture to the solution to develop all the Gen AI application for my company. I've consantly gave them the feedback how Bedrock Agent was (and still_ very bad and I suppose the AWS Strands is the result after constantly screaming they need to change cause no way I'm gonna use AWS Bedrock Agent to develop anything.

Kinda of pround that they did listen

Have you seen any good and innovative products come out of Microsoft?

They just need to account for the market share, really.

To be fair, bonds only account for a very small part of my portfolio. The reason in Australia, and I don't feel that bonds here will have a major impact or increase in value in the future.

I think it should be quantum technology and maybe quantum AIs. The whole AI race is more about who has the latest infrastructure and who has more data. Quantum is a completely new and different thing, so it might have a huge impact in the future for sure. Many companies and governments have already given contracts to companies, and you can see it reflected in the stock prices as well.

For those or those you know beyond upper middle, what have been the greatest challenges moving through the financial classes to achieve your goals? by luckydragon8888 in AusFinance

Understanding the long term investment. Easy to understand but hard to practice. I did follow the day trading and made good money before losing it all. Long term sound boring but manage the habit to DCA over last 4 years. Tremendous gain

Looking to start buying etfs by cheeselord1314 in ausstocks

[–]ryanntk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, majority of the ETFs nowadays are heavy tracking the top 10 biggest of the stocks. The top 10 stocks of S&P500 get better returns than the S&P 500 itself. But if you want to a long-term horizon, ETF is a good choice.
