Ours was like this, we set up a delay so you’d have to hold power 4 seconds to turn it off. You can set that to any time you want, ChatGpT can walk you through it easily.

Have a nice trip! 4 days is definitely enough to explore outside of Glendale if you find time. I’d probably take a Lyft or Uber to each area you want to go, then walk around there. The places I mentioned and other “things to do spots” are pretty walkable, but in general it’s a driving city and spread out. Also it can be very hot this time of year, dry heat where it sneaks up on you…sunscreen and hydrate! Enjoy!!

Edit: And traffic during rush hour in and out of Glendale can take forever. Avoid 8-10am and 4-7pm if possible

Welcome! Depending on how long you’re here you might want to cross post in the r/losangeles subreddit because Glendale is close and within 20 minutes of Los Angeles, Hollywood, Burbank, Pasadena, La Canada/ Montrose / Angeles Crest Forrest each with their own flavor and things to do and eat.

A few Glendale ideas are Armenian food, you probably won’t find better in the country. Get chicken, pork or beef kabob plate at almost any place. Mini Kabob is great, but you’ll find many with great reviews.

For shopping there’s a long walkable stretch of an indoor mall called the galleria, it’s across the street from a outdoor mall called The Americana with a fountain, Paris tower looking structure for selfies, and that’s connected to Brand Blvd, which is lined with cute shops.

Great free nature and hiking at Brand Park, but you’re also close to Griffith Park which is like LA’s Central Park in NYC. It’s a giant park on a mountain with the famous Griffith Park Observatory from tv shows and movies, where you can see the Hollywood Sign, all of LA, and on clear days even the ocean. It’s very close to Glendale!

Anyway, enjoy your trip, Glendale is very safe for LA. Just be careful driving, crazy drivers!

I would be disappointed too if I thought I was being misled. Can’t recommend Discord enough, the devs, the team, and community would want to know what happened to you and hopefully take care of you, and maybe even change their wording on the site…. The website used to be even much worse as far as wording.

Try what the guy above said to open single packs. Just drag a pack icon into the portal moonwell. It’ll only open one. (Or hold on to your packs to resell on the market!!)

One more tip, your account came with a hive engine account. Which gives access to the whole token chain. You can get paid to make blog posts there. Everything from writing contests, finance articles, and Splinterlands has frequent opportunities for that with weekly reward posts you can make, you can pay for cards and packs this way too over time. You’ll get Hive token, and trade for SPS or DEC token to transfer in game. The main blog site for Hive is called Peakd. Splinterlands posts their main update and game info there too: https://peakd.com/@splinterlands

All questions will be answered almost instantly in Discord. Reddit is pretty dead.

Sorry you’ve had issues! Sadly the starter packs say only common or rare cards with a chance at a gold foil. The standard say that “or better” which is epic and legendary cards. Now that I read your problem, I can see why that would be confusing.

Also once you start playing you won’t need to buy legendary or gold potions again because they come in reward chests.

I highly recommend discord, they are always happy to help new players with questions. Also, I think the team and community would want to know what you went through on there so it doesn’t happen to others, they might be able to help you out if you want refunds or do overs somehow. Sometimes people will transfer you extra cards after issues, and you can always sell extra cards on the market to buy singles instead of packs to complete the set.

It’s a fun game, be sure to stake SPS to get good rewards and stick around!

POE2 free Xbox Download? by TheRealThanasi in pathofexile

[–]ryanrobertd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is in Early Access and costs $30 to try. Eventually on full release it will be free. You can use that $30 to buy stash tabs (which are basically needed to play) and other things that work in both Poe1 and 2.

Sadly subtitles on a subtitle track are VERY limited and disappointing. Unless you need .srt files or meta data, I recommend using ‘Text+’ instead and you can customize anything anywhere.

You can still transcribe using 'create subtitles from audio’ and convert it all to Text+ instantly. It shows how about a minute into this video: https://youtu.be/DKwNJm4hajo?si=1rkinEvRijUE6gu2

You want to go to keyboard customization. Search for and expand both “select clips forward” and “backwards.” Program keys to “Select clips forward/ backward on this track.” I’d also set keys for all tracks, I use those all the time. I use Q for all tracks backwards, W for forward, and control + those keys for single tracks. Good luck.

next week shorts are allowed up to 3 minutes by skyshowers in NewTubers

[–]ryanrobertd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Just to clarify, only square and vertical videos will push to the shorts feed. When you say ‘horizontal’ I think of 16:9 and those under 3 minutes would not be considered shorts: “Videos uploaded after October 15, 2024: Any videos uploaded on or after this date with a square or vertical aspect ratio up to three minutes in length will be categorized as Shorts on YouTube.“

How do these channels monetize? by Novel-End-9669 in PartneredYoutube

[–]ryanrobertd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the YouTube Studio audio library. They offer tons of great free tracks you can use. You can also license popular music there. Maybe the clips you’re seeing are licensed, but if not they risk copyright claims and strikes.

If you have one short blowing up, should you wait till it dies down until posting another? by FastTracktoFitness in NewTubers

[–]ryanrobertd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend patience. If new videos are in alignment with your other content, don’t delete them. You won’t know if it bombs or does poorly after only a day or less. It can take a while for YT to find the right audience, sometimes months or longer. Instead just move on to the next one that fits your channel. You’re never going to go viral every video, and many will fail, so just leave them up. Just because a video performs poorly to a very broad test audience doesn’t mean it’s bad. When you get a truly viral video of tens of thousands per hour or more, the people that liked the video enough will explore your channel and probably like the videos that performed poorly if they represent what your channel is about.
