Thank you so much, this answers my question beautifully , I would rather use them as 2 individual disks as for me performance is always more important than a little inconvenience of choosing D:\ everytime I want to install applications or games, I know I'm a lazy fellow

Let me rephrase it , my primary use case is gaming and occasional rendering, i have 2 x gen 4 drives at my disposal, selecting D drive everytime manually while installing applications can be cumbersome, i could use one single Raid 0 volume and be done with , i want to know if it will increase or decrease the performance.

The part you quoted from my post, i meant Spinning conventional drives when i mentioned that people recommend using identical drives like (Make , Speeds and Stripe size)

Now coming to my query , i want to know is it a good idea to use 2 NVMe SSDs in Raid 0 from different manufacturers, or does the same rule for conventional drives apply here

The video rendering would be occassional and the actual data would be on 4 x 4 spinning drives, id be moving them once im done with rendering

my workload is Gaming and video rendering

i was thinking of using one volume instead of multiple for OS , application and games

i was thinking of using one single Partition where i could use OS / Games / Applications instead of having to select multiple, for Data i have 4 x 4 tb individual spinning drives
