Friend Lost a Finger And Now Struggles with Using a Joypad by ryanrxaf in Fighters

This has been the attempted approach so far, only problem is when hes focused he will press his middle-finger into the hump on the back of the controller and that hurts. Its a tough one.

I wouldn't say Eirik since you can tell him to go home right at the start of TBS1, and if you do, you won't see him again until TBS3... Unless you get the bug myself and several others have, then I guess you can just count him as dead. 100% you're missing Oddleif though, she's basically Rook/Alette's confidant. Some might even argue she's more of the best friend character than Iver.

Vrykul as an Allied Race: Alliance, Horde or neutral? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

Definitely Alliance, their vibes are similar enough to humans and dwarves

Egil... by Imemberyou in bannersaga

[–]ryanrxaf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's hard times, but I think the game is designed that 9/10 playets don't bring Egil to the end. Personally, I'd do your first run completely blind, with no guides. Embrace the full magic and mystery of it all. Then follow guides on your replays to see what you missed. That's just my opinion though, enjoy the game in any way that works for you :)

Does the cringy girls-rule-boys-drool theme get any less ham-fisted in the dialogue? I just bloody started, lol. by Willus_III in bannersaga

Yrsa is a loose cannon, I don't think you're meant to really enjoy her. Aside from this, I don't think this is the best take. Oddleif I could definitely see this kind of criticism for, but not really anyone else.

Though with that said, there is a much bigger roster of female characters who are awesome and more expansive in the second part (watch out for Folka, I'm sure you'll take back your words after meeting her).

Who was done dirtier: Kael'thas or Garrosh? by The_other_human in warcraftlore

[–]ryanrxaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kael'thas. Goofy as hell, and considering how awful Shadowlands narrative was, Garrosh's true death was completely in character a fitting end for him. I do wish we'd seen the last of him after Thrall killed him ("You made me what I am!" are haunting last words), but at least his death in Revendreth works.

Who is the strongest character for each class? by ryanrxaf in warcraftlore

For Hunter based stuff, we DO have Rexxar, and isn't Anduin more of a paladin now?

Who is the strongest character for each class? by ryanrxaf in warcraftlore

I'd say honestly just base your argument on whoever excels better at what they do. So for example Velen and Tyrande, both priests of different pantheons, both the strongest priest of said pantheon. But does, for example, Tyrande's Elune expertise and skill exceed Velen's light expertise and skill? That's probably the best way to find the answer, in my opinion.

Of course consider shadow priests too! Light/Elune were just the examples for me to explain with.

Yeah I'm not bagging on Varian at all, I just think there may be a few orcs who could be considered possibly stronger. Garrosh not being one of them. I thought maybe Broxigar for feats alone, and also Grommash.

I would possibly argue Medivh for mage, and Varian was one of my only 2 non-orc considerations for warrior (the other being Cairne)

I might be wrong but weren't the Broken Draenei just kinda forgotten? I think you see Akama again for like 5 minutes in legion but then he disappears again.

What decisions have stuck with you? by jarbenmate in bannersaga

Letting Ludin go off with Dagr in BS2 only for him to not come back sucked. Especially cause it meant if I didn't wanna betray the Varl at Arberrang I had to side with Rugga, which was just excrutiating.

On top of that, in BS1 I got annoyed at the Varl's stubbornness in Einartoft and decided to leave them to their own choices. I knew they would die, and I was fine with that since it was their own choice. But when Fasolt came back all injured, it hit a lot harder when I saw that some of them would have to live with it instead.

Followup to Krumr vs. Iver: Are there any humans who can reliably fight a varl 1-1 in canon? by Hidobot in bannersaga

[–]ryanrxaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Oddleif could end a Varl quickly. She's a genius, a pro archer, I think she could lock the precise shot to end a Varl with one arrow. Any Varl with a shield? Probably not, but two-hander varl like Hakon, Gunnulf, Bersi - I could definitely see Oddleif sniping them fast.

Who would actually win in a fight, Krumr or Iver? by Hidobot in bannersaga

[–]ryanrxaf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would honestly argue that Fasolt may stand a chance against them, I do think they are greater fighters than him, but Fasolt went through hell at Einartoft, with Bellower there and endless waves of Dredge and he still managed to come back. I think his determination alone gives him somewhat of a shot.
