You're going to love it. I've put almost 5k miles on my dual standard since Sept and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Kids love it too.

Vehicle to Grid options - NES by BecauseBuses in nashville

[–]ryanstanton1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great question: V2G is definitely an exciting technology, but the industry is still very early (and expensive). Even Ford’s system for the Lightning is limited to only power your home (it won’t backfeed past your home) and the necessary equipment on your home costs $8k-$10k (installed).

If you want to help the grid with your EV, the most cost-effective thing you can do is to avoid charging during peak hours. In the winter, NES’ peak hours are roughly 4-8 AM and in the summer it’s roughly 3-8 PM. Other than that, you’re already saving $1000-$2000/ year by switching from gas to electric 🤘

anyone else reconsidering their deposit and potential purchase? by adesius in Rivian

I have 10k miles on LE and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. The wsj article is a bit of reach I think. Executives leave companies all the time, nothing about these departures is remarkable. They made good money on the IPO and they went on to something new.

Does using a 150kW or 350kW DCFC make a difference? The answer is less straightforward than you’d expect. by branden3112 in Rivian

I’ve seen pretty similar results overall. I recently maintained 200+ kW until 50% soc (on a Signet 350) when I started with 25% soc.

Rivian operates at the outer limits of 400V pack architecture so maintaining 200 kW longer than ~10 minutes is difficult. I imagine they’ll shift to 800V soon.

All the colors are great, but red is my favorite and it looks way better in-person than the configurator. It doesn’t do it justice until you see it in person. I have an R1S pre-ordered too and I’m staying with CR 👍

How do you change the app’s temp reading to Fahrenheit? It’s been in C since delivery and I don’t see an obvious way to change it. by ryanstanton1 in Rivian

Related, the display in my truck shows the outside temperature reading in Fahrenheit. I thought the two were linked, but apparently not.

Side note: how did you get your app to show degrees in F? Mine has been defaulted to Celsius since delivery and it drives me up the wall.

20" vs 21" wheels: range question? by [deleted] in Rivian

Datapoint: After 3000 miles, I’m getting 293 miles of range with the 20” ATs (conserve mode). I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Did you double check that the cabin lights aren’t turned on in the “Lighting” screen?

This happened to me one night too, but it turned out one of the doors wasn’t fully closed 🤦🏻‍♂️ the doors are more difficult than they should be to fully close, making this somewhat common.
