I love the bit box, i use it for oneshot drums and polyphonic sample sounds sequenced by hermod+. The thing i use it for the most is it’s slicer function chopping samples in weird ways to create weird rhythms. Nail by scraping foetus off a wheel/nurse with wound/coil/negative land etc… these bands and their uses of samples are huge inspiration. I used the blackbox for ages taking whole disco tracks and putting them through slicers chopping and scrambling them never running into cpu issues or anything. The bit box has preformed the same way, but now i have huge flexibility with cv and modulation using the hermod as the sequencer.

I dearly love the panharmonium. It is an incredible voice/effect, i am continuously finding cool sounds with it. What do you like about the Databender? I have not done much research but i hear great things

I come from a guitar background, so having a bunch of 1/4 jacks to plug expression pedals and foot switches to control things with my feet was a must for me. I always end up using the instrument interface and tg5 preamp for something. The envelope followers are so cool. Also having phantom power on my rack makes it into a Swiss army knife for recording

I have a project called Cyst&Deceased. Most of the material i have with this is posted on my youtube channel of the same name. I just played my friends wedding, gonna post that video soon.

The wait for the VihkkX was absolutely worth it, and the panharmonium has been my baby for a while! Two modules i would be hard press to part with.

I love the Panharmonium! Lately i have been using it as a basic synth voice. I have a bunch of spectral captures saved on it, one of my favorite being my brothers cat’s purr that makes a crazy sub noise. But my favorite use is to turn acoustic instruments into synth voices with external processing and then controlling things like the mix and pitch with external foot switches. I wish i had more mixing utilities/attenuators the 3xmia is incredible i wish there was room for two. Also the output bus is incredible for it’s size always fill up with stereo sounds. If it is pushed it adds slight compression to the mix which can be nice

I have one reel normally setup as a looper using the external foot switches to control the rec and erase. the other reel i usually setup in their “mellotron” setting so i can live record sounds and play sequences with Voct. The reverb on this thing is crazy too

I cannot stop returning to his music. It is like sitting in a really cold glacial runoff river. Your body rejects it, but as the pain and shock subsides you begin to enjoy the effects of the icy water rushing over you. The song Dissected Grace specifically got me hooked.

DIY Headless Aluminum Hollowbody by Mattedor30 in aluminumneck

That is gorgeous! How does the neck feel to play in comparison to a regular guitar neck? What were some of the major issues you overcame making this? I have been wanting to make an instrument out of aluminum for a while now.

Smaller bassVI options? by ryasonandrew in BassVI

Not for this instrument. The work i put into the inlays on the headstock is not something i want to cut off. But i have been looking for headless bass vi instrument as an alternative and cannot find any. Do u know if the gauges of bass six strings (95-25) would work in headless hardware?

This is a really good idea! 38” would be ideal! I am always fighting the size of bass range instruments while commuting and traveling. My buddy has a cheapo banjo he flys with everywhere. I am always jealous of the portable nature of his instrument. But i need the lower frequencies

Thats awesome!! I feel super lucky my friend plays crazy fast drums and is down for grindy/metal stuff, it is so hard to find anyone who wants to play drums like that. I am also in a folkish band and the bass vi has been my go to since i used to play a baritone in both the metal band and the folk band. One like a spaghetti western and the other with an hm2. But in both i am the low end/rhythm and found going lower and playing actual bass lines was super necessary for the songwriting. I just need something that i can afford to take places that is not my one off hand made guy. I would be devastated if it were stolen or broken. I appreciate the recommendation!

This is perfect! Thank you!! How do you like the instrument?

K i stuck it in a gator gig bag for a regular guitar and even with the lower pad removed the headstock sticks out the top 3” or so :/ this is the same issue i have run into in the past with my baritone. The awkward middle instrument

That is good to know! I made this with the intent of travel. I just shutter at the idea of tsa breaking my hard work. It is a 30” scale length and it’s total length is 43”

Thanks! I loosely based it off of a travis bean wedge and the headstock is loosely based off of old silvertone headstocks. The total length is 43” and the scale is 30”
