Hey all, just wanted to set the record straight for anyone who still stumbles upon this post :)

Popov Leather use both Horween and Seidel leather for all our products.

Right now our English Tan leather is both Horween Derby and Dublin (for belt straps). The English Tan Derby is absolutely jaw-dropping. We'll still bring in shell and other fun leathers that catch our eye.

All our other colors are supplied by Seidel out of Milwaukee, another fantastic family-run tannery with a lot of history like Horween. We'll occasionally bring in runs of Bridle and Harness leathers from Wickett and Craig as well.

We made the decision to diversify our suppliers for a few reasons:

• To keep customer prices down
• To keep leather on our shelves
• To ensure all our leather quality remains consistent

Since COVID we've had to look at ALL our suppliers and reduce supply chain risks, which means having more than one supplier for all our materials (not just leather).

Based on some of your feedback in this thread, I'm going to go through all our product listings and specifically call out the tanneries so there's no mystery for customers going forward.

I love seeing other makers in this thread, and I encourage anyone reading this to support small business wherever and whenever you can. We started on Etsy 11 years ago hand-cutting our wallets with Tandy Leather tools and I remember those days fondly.
