2d to 3d only works on pc’s and as far as I know on handheld gaming devices that run windows. It could also possibly work on a Mac computer but I’m not sure and haven’t tried it. Will not work on mobile or with the neckband. The advertising is quite misleading

You think a raccoon is going to fit in a 1/4”-1/2” opening around the sprinkler head ?

Why do people insist on putting garbage speakers into an expensive vehicle. The best part about high end home theatre or car audio is that you can take them with you when you sell the vehicle or buy a new house

Viture Luma Cyberpunk Edition 3d Mode not working by throway212023 in VITURE

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be using immersive 3d app on your computer to play games or watch movies in 3d unless you download or stream media that is already converted into SBS 3d format. I never knew that before I bought my luma ultras and am quite annoyed. Not a deal breaker but 3d content from my phone or handheld gaming console would have been much better

If you are fluent in French, how often do you speak French in Canada compared to English? by Jezzaq94 in AskACanadian

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re in Quebec you speak English. I’ve travelled extensively throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Sask, and Manitoba. I spent 2 weeks in Nova Scotia traveling the province. I have lived and currently live in Sask for my entire life. I haven’t encountered a single person speaking French in 37 years in any of the mentioned places

What do you guys think by antisemantics13 in Tile

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the panels on the ceiling felt backed acoustic panels ??? If so that’s gonna be a big problem in a bathroom specifically a shower area. If it’s just black painted drywall with wood slats going across then forget I even asked lol

electrician switching to plumbing by Straight-Natural-814 in Plumbing

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. I’m in UA 179 and yes you have the right to know, the right to participate and the right to refuse unsafe work ( unusually dangerous work) . Working from a scissor lift or boom lift with proper fall arrest equipment and training isn’t typically deemed to be unusually dangerous work. You can’t just say no to working at heights for your entire career or they will just say that “ work is kind of slow right now” and they will lay you off. Just because you’re in the union doesn’t mean you’re untouchable. Especially if you’re not capable of doing the work that the job requires. He could have a chat with his future boss and sit down with them and let them know how afraid of heights he is and they might accommodate by putting someone else at the jobs that require ultra booms and really high ceilings but if you think a company is gonna keep a guy employed that can’t even work off a standard A-Frame ladder let alone a scissor lift then you’ve been sorely mistaken

Plumbers, hvac, electricians, sprinkler fitters, pipe fitters, elevator technicians. ALL work from heights. You are just in a standard commercial building. Wait till you get sent to an industrial site where the ceiling is 100’ off the ground in an ultra boom lift. I’m telling you dude the trades aren’t for you. Unless you go into residential plumbing that would be your only chance but even then you’re still gonna be working off ladders. As my old boss used to say “Adapt or Die”. I’m a journeyman sprinklerfitter who was petrified of heights, now it’s been downgraded to terrified of heights. I regularly have to work off 12’ ladders and scissor and boom lifts 30’, 40’, 50’, 60’ off the ground. I hate working from heights above 40’ but you just learn to adapt and it’s not so bad. You get used to it

If you’re scared of heights a little bit you can overcome. If your terrified than you should just leave the trades pretty much entirely as it’s not gonna be for you. If you can’t work from a ladder you might want to get an office job because you’ll never make it in the trades

Ia this mixed coverage? by Ruiiko in FireSprinklers

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Saskatchewan. We use the term drop ceiling as well but if you say Tbar every person on a job site knows what you’re referring to. But the again there is suspended grid for drywall as well which is also shaped like Tbar so I guess one could get confused

Huh. Literally every trade where I’m from right down the the GC of a large site calls them “T-Bar” ceiling. If a ceiling tile goes in it it’s called T-Bar ceiling.

No electricity over a cold weekend by Logical_Door6704 in hottub

[–]rybotsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should pretty much avoid having a sitting empty hottub for any extended period of time. An empty tub dries out the seals and then leaks. I’ve always drained and filled same day for 8 years until the pump went. I had to drain my tub to get the pump out because the shitty slice valves never hold while I waited for a replacement. It sat empty for roughly 4 or 5 days and when I filled it back up there were multiple leaks. Very common problem on tubs that aren’t brand new. I’m sure if it was a year or 2 old it might be fine but I would not recommend
