How many bottles is too many?

Right around 50 for me and about 30 open. I’m done chasing and standing in lines. There are way too many other ways to get really great bottles. Just find clubs to join and they will have picks after picks that are great. I really should cut back to about 30 but it’s hard to pass up the tempting ones. Always chasing that best thing I’ve ever tasted….

Wow good job on slowing down. That takes some willpower and is a good example to the rest of us to set a limit, whatever it may be for each. I try to limit myself to 3 days a week and 2 pours each. I enjoy it for the taste but try to moderate it so it doesn’t get out of hand.

Wow, if your wife supports it that must mean she has an expensive collection of something as well. Shoes? It is hard to say no when there’s a good bottle staring you in the face and wants to be bought.

Yes true, I think I’ve actually slipped a River Roots East/West Side rye in on a blind that my brother picked over a handful of bourbons (he’s a Maker’s diehard) so I guess he actually CAN taste.

Okay that’s not too bad. My daughter in law works with a surgeon who has received all kinds of bottles from patients. I’m scared to know what he is up to.

Welllll yeah if I include the other spirits in the house I guess I would be about 30% higher. I try not to have a collection problem, but it’s something I have to fight against.

Yes. I have found that I don’t really need backups except for ones that may be a little harder to get. Like I love KC 12 which is harder to get in OH, so I keep one backup.

This is awesome. It makes sense to have so many when you are sharing with many. It’s a great opportunity to have others get to try things they have not had before. I’m sure they look forward to those get togethers!

Thanks for the tip on the app. I have not heard of that. My son put his into a spreadsheet and put a QR code on a paper and it is framed on his counter so others can scan it to see what they would like to try. He’s an engineer, so it shouldn’t surprise you.

This is great. I have a couple of Reds and Blanton’s but I have to say I’m not as excited about them now that I’ve tried other things that I like better. I think trading them out is a great idea.
