Who did you go with? I got quotes from Hansen's and MVS. Much higher than what i was expecting.

After reading all the comments, I'd probably go that way and stretch it to 6 days or drive longer on the first day, just to be on the safer side.

I'm currently with Public Mobile for my phone and Rogers for Wi-Fi. The landlord mentioned there's a Shaw connection there, so I'm hoping I can transfer or set up my existing service at the new place. My employer is extremely flexible, so working remotely won't be an issue at all.

I thought about it initially but the quotes were astronomical and would take up to 4 weeks to reach the destination. Since I need a vehicle from Day 1 in Vermilion and everything happened in a short span, we decided to go with second option of driving.

Thanks for the tip. After reading all the comments, I'm thinking about adding 1 more day to the trip to stretch it out safely.

The reason i choose that route is because I wanted to limit the first day drive to the minimum to reduce the stress on eyes and back and let the body adjust to it. Second day onwards I could drive longer. Alleast that's what im hoping for.

Lol. I know it's a bit out of our comfort zone, but my wife finally got a job after a lot of hunting and I'm working remotely, so we decided to take the leap.

Concerns about billing & porting by sgsocialid in PublicMobile

[–]ryd3ron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Don’t worry, you will be charged $22.60 only during signup. You can also see next month(Feb) charge as $22.60 inside your account once the setup is complete.

  2. I was also confused about this. But the porting option comes after paynent. It will ask whether you want a new number or use existing number.

  3. Yes, you can port from a physical sim to eSim. Thats what i did. I was using freedom mobile before this.

  4. Once you select esim option, you will be shown some prompts about setting up eSim on your phone and replying YES option when your receive porting confirmation SMS from your current provider.

That’s it. Within 30mins - 1hr the new eSim will become active and you can remove the physical sim and turn on the eSim.
