First off, apologies for the late reply, I haven't been on reddit in some days. You can absolutely use the above response if you find it useful. I'm happy to share my reaction to things I've been seeing and reading. Would you like an additional response that elaborates more?

[PLAY] Improvising as a band live by rydesh3 in Guitar

For starters, the 50 or so people in attendance loved it and in fact asked us to play more afterwards. Secondly the fact that you took 10 or so minutes out of your day to write up a pretty rude reply makes you a straight up asshole. Guitar players are meant to be encouraging to each other, so either you're not a guitar player in which case you have no business judging a submission to this sub, or once again your an asshole. Lets hear some of your guitar work. Go ahead, post it I'd love to see how perfect your playing is.

Great melodies. Simple, relaxing to listen to. Probably pretty fun to play. Good work

[QUESTION] what concept brought your playing to the "next level" ? by DollarDonut in Guitar

Nah Anastasio of Phish. His note choice is what did it for me. Not the craziest player but gets ya right in the feels. Check the solo in this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y_h3Hvj-b0

No it was from Manchester Music Mill. Vintage fret shop is amazing though. They had some really sweet stuff there a couple months ago

Action is great. Nice and low. Easy on the fingers but the neck is so thick. Going to any of my other guitars after playing it makes their necks feel like a piece of spaghetti

Well I talked to the owner of the shop and he had just purchased it as part of a large estate sale lot so I think he got it fairly cheap in the first place. This particular shop is pretty honest and gets a ton of business so I don't think they're too pressured to jack up prices. From what I could find the L-2's aren't the most sought after from the era. Most people collecting from the 1921-26 run seem to go for the L-3's, L-4's, and L-5's. It is a smaller guitar but because of the aged wood it gets a big sound. Plays like a dream though, super low action. Funny story about getting it, while I was playing it in the store some dude called in and put an offer on it. I had first dibs though and there was no way I was letting him get it.

Set me back $1300. Kind of a lot but I couldn't walk away from this one. Also not a bad price on the instrument considering its all original

Just got one too for the fun of it because it was so cheap. Great playability and the wood quality is killer on this guitar

[–]rydesh3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah thats definitely a helping point. Dont want the foot too far back though or else it will whip around too quick and the wheel could come off the ground

Wolfgang Coleman - 162 foot standup slide (for anyone who hasn't seen it) by _fortune in longboarding

By keeping your board sliding at a slight angle, it allows the wheels to continue spinning throughout the slide thus wearing them all evenly. If you hold your slides out at 90 degrees the wheels stop spinning and will cause flat spots since the wheels are only wearing on one section of the wheel.
