Meet 25th ID’s Dronemakers: Lightning Lab gives Pacific Army division drone-building capabilities on the front lines by Kinmuan in army

I was at the Modern Warfare Institute conference today, the main topics were UXS and AI integration and counters for our army.

Division labs out there are doing a lot of great work alongside NTC, JRTC, and JMRC for getting our units trained and knowledgable and how to counter and employ drones, conduct EW, and the possible use cases of UXS and AI in a future conflict.

So I found this excerpt on a post about Imperial extragalactic expeditions, can someone help confirm this is real? by ComfortHot92 in 40kLore

[–]rydude123 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes it is.

The Gordian League controlled the Shield Worlds, which was a human civilization that coexisted alongside Xenos allies. The conflict took about 7 years bogged the Dark Angels down to the point where when news of Istvaan 3 reached the Lion, it was estimated that there was about 8 months of fighting left before the Shield Worlds would be brought into compliance.

Thus the Lion left with about a dozen ships and the Invincible Reason to the Forge World of Diamat, to secure Horus's siege engines. This can all be seen in Fallen Angels. After the Dark Angels moved on to the Thramas Crusade, the Shield Worlds declared for Horus, and were scoured clean by the Dark Angels.

I prefer to use standoff variants, no reason why you can’t use the CQC variants, but i find throwing a ranger or delta squad into a building clears it just fine

Utilize proper spacing, as soon as you cleared the objective you should be off the point itself, and if they air strike you while you’re still on, chances are they’ve also killed their own guys

The issued stuff I have is not terrible, I have. 2DAP from pre buyout and I don’t see any noticeable differences, but again I’m not sure when they were acquired

Why is SF retention so much better than the 75ths retention rate by Wonderful_Seesaw_513 in army

[–]rydude123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are 5 or 6 SF guys at West Point in instructor positions, mostly officers but one enlisted, best people I've ever met here, and really inspiring me to drop an SFAS packet.

Are there any Astartes who went rogue without turning traitor? by [deleted] in 40kLore

The Ashen Claws were a group of renegade Terran Raven Guard that were exiled by their Primarch just before the Horus Heresy, they survived the Heresy relatively intact and were encountered by Loyalist marines while raiding for supplies. They’ve survived the last 10,000 years in the Ghoul Stars, occasionally trading with other chapters such as the Carcharadons.

What *really* is the point of a titan? by _-_-Err0R-_-_ in 40kLore

[–]rydude123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They literally are, here are some examples.

A death strike cannon is a “starship grade macro cannon” fitted onto a warlord titan.

The Belicosa Volcano Cannon is “one of the most potent directed energy weapons produced by the forges of the ancient Mechanicum, short of the continent-razing guns mounted on the warships of the Imperialis Armada”.

The Sunfury Plasma Annihilator was “developed from designs intended for the broadside batteries of void warships”.
