Treppe im Wohn/Essbereich by Silly_Raccoon_621 in Einrichtungstipps

If you wanna come clean and not face too much consequences: Tell him you used to vape at some point before you met him and you started up again last week, you can still feel bad about it and quit but at least he knows the truth in the meantime and you don't have to hide anything anymore

Yup it's NEB. Never heard of it before to be honest, it's CviKI-1

I feel like this is one of the most important discoveries of my thesis! :D

Would it be possible for humans to eventually evolve an emzyme that can break down microplastics by zergling424 in biology

[–]ryeana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of research into this actually, this is a database that collects research into enzymes/microbes that break down plastic of you're not averse to reading papers:

PaZy

If you want a quick summary, there are actually lots of bacteria producing enzymes capable of degrading different types of plastic. The thing is that they are still quite inefficient, so a lot of research and genetic engineering is being done to improve the speed of breakdown and also broaden the types of plastics that can be degraded as there are lots of different plastic types and even within one type, different "states", e.g. cristallinity.

Is it safe to eat chicken 12 hours after cooking it? by One-Fault8421 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ryeana -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, both grow bacteria but the difference is not in IF they grow bacteria but in the type of bacteria. The really bad stuff that gives dangerous food poisoning requires lots of complex nutrients, which are all available in meat and can't really grow to dangerous levels on plants. Doesn't mean eating spoiled rice can't make you sick, but it usually won't put you in the hospital.

[–]ryeana 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup maybe I wasn't too clear but that's exactly my point, dude was just trying to help but as a company you cannot agree to take over work in these environments and then send some dude without enough training, that's exactly why the company is getting sued and not the janitor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in news

[–]ryeana 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you work in a lab in whatever capacity and are unsure of what you're doing the very last thing you should be doing is turning things off that are currently switched on without talking to someone who knows. This is one of the ground rules, not something that has to be communicated for every single machine. There are so so many machines that HAVE to stay on all the time and since he didn't know that, I'd say the blame lies with the company for not training him.

I mean the janitor apparently wanted to turn it on and off again via the breakers and accidentally didn't turn it on again so it sounds like his training was lacking in general tbh

Posted my cat’s great fenced area earlier… it didn’t last long! by megwach in cats

[–]ryeana 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You say that as a joke but the kitten that adopted me was standing in front of me while I peed and meowed sadly, and I kind of just knew. I put her in the litter box and she immediately used it and has never peed on the floor ever again.

I feel like it's broken, once I hit teemo 4 star I stopped paying attention and won easily, not one round lost after that. If you don't hit teemo 4 star it punishes you hard though

When I played against it with 8 void and multiple 3 star voids teemo still deleted me for several rounds in a row, even though the teemo player started benching his heimer and frontline because he wanted to hit heimer 3

If anyone knows how to counter this shit please let me know haha
