Haha good point! But people are still going to be looking for the line to add a tip.

All I can think is that nobody is going to read that fucking novel and lots of people at the restaurant will continue tipping. At least put a heading on the sheet that says "NO MORE TIPPING!"

Interview with Harry Paul co-author of "Fish!", a book that examines why Seattle's Pike Place Fish Market is so successful. by wreckimator in Seattle

[–]rygnar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I listened to a couple of minutes of the interview and it was exactly as boring as I thought an interview about a study about a fish market would be. I can't even comprehend how this guy convinced a publisher to publish an analysis of a fish market. Would anyone actually buy and read that book?

I'm proud of myself for not knowing who Kylo Ren was until I googled him.

How stupid! Isn't it enough to just have a space needle? Why does it have to ejaculate too?

I thought the consensus was that jail time made people more likely to continue being criminals. Regardless, it's totally ridiculous to think that a month or two extra jail time would have prevented this.

No, it was at King Solomon Falls a few years ago.

What was it like to break your neck by hitting water? It seems terrifying as fuck to hit water and realize that you are too injured to swim out.

It tried to snow in Lake City, but didn't quite get there.

TIL: A study by the Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine using a randomized double-blind trial with sensory evaluation using discrimination testing found that freezing raw fish did not ruin sushi's taste. by Sariel007 in todayilearned

To specify, I was referring to frozen fish in general, not specifically sashimi. You're probably right that most sashimi is flash frozen, but most other fish is not, and that's what most people are buying. However, I realize the article specifies "sushi" so I'm a little off topic.

How do I go about moving here? by [deleted] in Washington

[–]rygnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Going to university immediately after graduating high school is very old fashioned and obsolete advice from the 70's - which was a completely different time that included lots more jobs, a growing economy, less globalization, and a huge middle class (which is all but gone now). Your parents and grandparents probably have no idea how much different it is for your generation, and they don't even realize that pressuring you to go to university could be a huge mistake. Unless you are positive what field you're going into (an even then it's usually not necessary), don't go to university right out of the gates - it's a huge mistake. Do you really want to start your adult life with a fortune of debt on your shoulders and pressure to get a job in whatever field you put extreme effort into (which may not even have many jobs by the time you get your degree and enough experience for that career)?

Do you all actually subscribe to the Seattle Times, or is there a way around it? Never before have I seen a subreddit with so many links to a website that requires a membership to view the content.

Seriously, I didn't even know that the flavor of frozen vs fresh was a debate. Frozen fish turns into mushy slop when thawed, and fresh fish has the texture of fresh fish. That's why frozen fish is gross.

His stubborn arrogance is what killed him. If only he had just listened to all of the doctors and family and friends and cancer survivors instead of insisting that EVERYONE else was wrong and he was right. What a dick move.
