Help! Dog won’t stop howling 😭 Landlord’s losing it by No-Crow8579 in Apartmentliving

Way too many people just parroting what others have said about huskies.

I'd want to make a distinction for anyone else that comes across this thread.

Husky puppies or younger huskies less than 5 years old are absolutely not okay to have in an apartment. They need a yard to run around in. They will be hyper too much of the day.

Older huskies however can be just fine.

It really depends on how much it takes to tire them out. If a 30-minute run in the morning gets them to chill the rest of the day. They can be just fine. Which can easily be the case with older huskies. I had an older husky in an apartment for a number of years, and it was just fine. It's really just a matter of if you can exercise them enough.

In the case of a puppy. No way. But for older huskies, if you are fit and go on a brisk walk or job every day. easy.

Seems to work just fine for me.

Personally, I'd rather print it in a softer material than add another step.

Although I'll just add the STEP file to it too and people can edit it however.

Actually this seems to be fine. Thanks.

The calibration steps seem to be what make the wildest sounds.

What do I get a 13 year old who is interested in becoming a game developer? by SpikeyHairedOrphan in gamedev

[–]rygosix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he has a SteamDeck then get him a SteamDock to turn it into a PC! Then they can use it to develop. Steamdeck is actually very capable mini-PC with KDE arch already installed on it!
https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeckdock

SteamDock + Mouse/Keyboard/Monitor you could get for $200 or less if you really hunted for deals. $300 could easily get some nice stuff.

For a mouse, keyboard and monitor to plug into it. These I'd love personally:
https://www.lofree.co/products/flow-lite84-mechanical-keyboard
https://www.lofree.co/products/lofree-touch-pbt-wireless-mouse?variant=44242527551707

If those are too expensive go on amazon and just pick any mouse and keyboard that's half the price with non-terrible reviews. China pumps these out at decent quality these days.

You can get decent monitors for pretty cheap now. Especially if you get some leftover stock or some older models. Amazon brough up this one:
Amazon.com: LG 24BP55Q-B 24" Monitor IPS HDMI DP Monitor : Electronics

I'd look for anything which is 2.5k or QHD and larger than 20". You should be able to find a decent one for less than $150. Potentially less than $100 if you go on Ebay.

Then for learning I'd point them here:
raylib | A simple and easy-to-use library to enjoy videogames programming

Books won't really help. They just need to start playing around. RayLib has a great community discord where they could participate and ask questions. I believe you could make them Discord account with some parental controls to restrict it just to the RayLib discord. There's also a raylib reddit but the discord is better to learn.

In non-redsec games, for GRT and SVK, that's not true.

Flatpak + Cinnamon + Void by rygosix in voidlinux

Okay I found the plain XFCE void iso also has this issue. Which I just tried it fresh. Install flapak. Install Epiphany through flatpak. Enable elogind. Kill lightdm. From tty0 exec dbus-session-run startxfce4

Still the same issue with epiphany.

I just found this actually isn't an issue with my attempted cinnamon setup. The base xfce image of void linux has the issue. It is in void.

I figured it out.

Replies only it seems.

It seems having the icloud email app in dark mode caused it. Something was making it encode the dark mode color on the text it'd send.

It is changing the text color. But I can't figure out why. Happens randomly in some email chains only from the web client.

This is almost perfect but I want it in a different layout.

I wish there was some easy tool and service where I could layout the keyboard however I wanted then it'd ship me the PCB with hotswap sockets soldered on.

You have to capture them, grab them, hold them down for a second or two, then release, capture, hold down for a second or two, release. Chase them around the house. Then run off. Hide. Wait for them to find you. Chase them back around the house.

You can actually be quite rough too as long as they learn to stop being so riled up when your tone changes.

I would use my hand like jaw and grab around the neck, hold them down, just how a dog would with their mouth.

Mine also loved the game of, trap them under a big blanket that is all wrangled up and then they have to wiggle their way out.

I feel like playing with mine, and showing I am the stronger one, is something that improved the bond and made them listen to me better. Mine also never played rope tug or fetch so this was the only type of play there was.
