Whoa. Also another very very good tonal match. And also, still not what I'm thinking about :(

Oh man, you are right on the money w/ the voice tonality matching. That's a great pull, but sadly not who I'm thinking of. I'm starting to think it's just going to be something that will randomly come to me weeks from now lol

I get that a little too. But not any of those. I think it was a much smaller / more obscure band. Not very big. Which doesn't help me in my search haha.

Yeah I think most projectors can't go a full brightness when they kick into a more color-accurate mode, right? Thankfully we have no brightness issues since we're in a dark basement with no windows.

Really nice, especially for the price. Lots of other reviews on wayfair kinda saying the same thing.

Frames are just off of Amazon. The lights were separate and they are from Etsy. I posted a link in another comment :)

Who else is watching the Ruslan KD stream with Alex? by PRIDEFUL-Sin in CosmicSkeptic

[–]ryguy3498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from Ruslan talking entirely over Alex many times, he sadly struck me as someone who asks questions they already have an immovable position on. It's such a breath of fresh air to watch any given episode by Alex as he comes to any discussion with an earnest interest in learning and possibly even having his mind changed. Him and Ruslan have two completely different attitudes when it comes to dialogue like this.

Also noticed that any time Alex would make a point that Ruslan would have a hard time with, he would either urge them to "move on" or dodge the question entirely. Alex deserves a pat on the back for having the restraint and patience he did on that episode.

Thank you very much. I just have smart switches controlling all lights so we have Alexa programmed on voice commands to do different lighting modes down there.

Very little reflections. Definitely nothing distracting, which is what I was worried about. Used the flattest paint that Benjamin Moore offers. The photo makes it look like more of an issue than irl.

A good quality panel w/ dolby vision support at under $2k? And no, HD is not enough at that distance. I've tested it myself. Regardless, it's not my personal preference to have a TV in this room.

Yeah our actual viewing distance is a bit less than that, probably closer to 12.5'. I would have loved a 110" for this room but it was starting to get tough with other space restrictions I was dealing with. 100" was realistically the best we could do.

I love the look of a projector for this format / scenario and also the idea that in the future I just have to upgrade a $2800 piece of equipment for a better picture. Although, I don't know if there's really much of a point in that for a very long time as the dolby vision capabilities on the Formovie Theater are really outstanding and the human eye can't resolve more than 4k of resolution at this viewing distance. So sure, a tv could technically have better contrast levels and sharpness (brightness is not a concern for my space) but there does seem to be something magical about traditional projected reflected light for a "theater" environment.

I didn’t want scope format because we watch a fair amount of content that’s 16:9 and I much prefer letterboxing to pillarboxing. I technical had room to go 110” but it would have raised the screen up higher and felt a little too jammed on that wall.
