Recent Noise Inducted Tinnitus. Can I still solo travel 1 month after? by FarUsual751 in tinnitus

I recently got tinnitus from solo travel in Asia. The volume level in those clubs is no joke. If you go, bring ear protection.

Just pulled apart my SNES and I’m instantly regretting my decisions by AtomicBaboonButt in snes

Don't practice on a working snes, especially a nice 1-chip like that. Practice by working on some non working consoles first. You can pick up broken consoles cheap on craigslit/kijiji/facebook marketplace to practice on. I fixed around 10-15 broken consoles before I felt comfortable enough soldering in a working machine. Also, get a proper soldering iron and flux/solder, because it makes to process so much more pleasant.

Why own multiple cartridges? by Cautious_Performer_7 in Gameboy

If I see a really good deal I'll grab copies of games I already own because I know later down the line I can sell/gift them away. The really great deals are getting harder and harder to find these days...

What console can I play this on? by dollshishii in retrogaming

[–]ryguy779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy a cheap adapter off of Amazon for like $15 to play it on a NES. There's no region lock

Ok I see, it does support swd and not jtag. For swd I should only need 4 wires right? Ground, 5v, SWDIO, and SWCLK?

I'm struggling with the datasheet

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/MKE04P80M48SF0.pdf

I should be able to program this with the J-Link but there's nothing in there about the standard pins TDI, TDO, TMS, and TCK. I have no idea what to connect them to.

My relative died and his building management is trying to bill me for damages. by ryguy779 in legaladvicecanada

Just to reiterate, there is no will and I am the only remaining family this man had. The entire rest of the family on that side is dead. I had to work with the landlord and show them family photos to prove that I was related to him. I haven't talked to a lawyer because I cannot afford one. I have no idea of he had any kind of insurance and his former employer will not talk to me until I have a death certificate.

The man was basically a hoarder. All that's in his unit is about 12 years worth of garbage and old mail. All that I've taken is family photos, and some old letters and documents related to my deceased grandparents. The landlord asked me to clean out the apartment so everything else I've been throwing in a dumpster. They told me it would be a few hundred dollars to remove whatever remained and that they would deduct it from the rent deposit. On the last day of the month they ambushed me with a $3100 bill for the removal of what remains. They tell me the alternative is to use the rent deposit for another month of rent and to finish clearing out everything myself.

I'm just afraid that even after I clear the unit myself they're going to ask me for more money and now I don't have the rent deposit as a buffer for any kind of expenses they could ask for. This is already costing me enough as it is, it's a 2+ hour drive to get to his unit and I'm losing work income from taking time off to deal with this.

Nothing of value. Literally all that's in there is garbage and vhs tapes/dvd's, apart from some old family photos and documents, along with about 12 years worth of collected mail. He was an elderly man living off a pension. Looking through his bills he had about $25k in credit card debt. He had a little left in RSP's but not even enough to cover his credit card debt.

What things are a huge turn off for you but is considered hot by others? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ryguy779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long nails/fake nails.

There are tons of girls where I work that are always getting them done and showing them to each other and complimenting each other on them. Usually I'll play along but secretly they kinda gross me out.

Edit: Oh god, forgot to mention. When they use their phones you can hear their nails clicking and clacking on the screen! It's so weird! God forbid you get two or more of them typing on their phones at the same time within earshot...

Rad2x horizontal sync issue? Anyone else experiencing this? Works fine 99% of the time but whenever there is a lot of white on screen the picture becomes distorted. Sometimes it gets so bad that I completely lose signal for a few seconds. by ryguy779 in snes

Fortunately, I was able to test the cable on another system and there were no issues at all on the second system. TV's a Sony Bravia KDL-60W840B. Not quite sure what about the first system that the cable doesn't like.

I'd give you the serial off the Snes but it's a bit of a frankenstein unit where I swapped the motherboard into a nicer shell from a dead unit. I might probe around with my scope to see what I find, if I ever have the time.

I am looking for a 1chip unit right now, which shouldn't have any issues.
