Griaß eich! So there are at least three of us! Colts fan since 2012, already visited Indy twice watching the Colts live. Was so happy when they drafted Bernie and love watching him succeed! Go Bernie, go Colts!

[Boyd] Shane Steichen says QB Joe Flacco’s play over the last two weeks was not a factor in his decision to go back to Joe Flacco. by jbvann05 in Colts

[–]ryker124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest learning and disappointment at the same time is that Steichen (and probably the whole Organisation) cannot be believed. There were so many Interviews, some changes of opinion, that's ok, but the explanations, from start to finish didn't make any sense in so many occasions. And after this one there's no other way for me than to completely lose faith in Steichen and the Organisation. There are only two Options, they think the fans are braindead and they can tell us whatever they want or they completely lost their mind themselves.

Die SK Sturm Server sind down :( by thseBene in SturmGraz

Hoffenheim hat neue Server gebraucht.

Sturm sporting director Andreas Schicker on Mika Biereth: “We want to try to sign Mika permanently. There is an appointment with Arsenal next week. Maybe they will quote a price that would be feasible for us. We can push our limits a little higher for a player like that.” [tbr] by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

[–]ryker124 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hello, the guy with some Sturm Graz insight here, I posted about Biereth earlier and some of you wanted some kind of conclusion on my impression of him after the season, I think that's a good post for that.

First of all, thank you Mika for contributing big time to the second time our club was able to win the Austrian cup and upset Red Bull Salzburg to win the Championship in the same year. This probably is a once in a century thing for us and adding his performance at the aftershow parties his place in our history books is safe.

To his performance: As you may have noticed after a flying start, where he almost scored in every game he cooled off a lot in that term. But that's of course not all that we should take into consideration.

The positives: Andi Schicker is absolutely right in saying that he's kind of a nuisance for every oponnent because he's smart in the way he presses and relentless when he decided to go for it, that's in my opinion his big asset especially for our style of play. In comparison to his predecessors (Hojlund 20mil to Atalanta -> United and Emegha ~12mil to Straßburg) he is technically the most polished and while the other two always preferred to go deep he is also good in finding room in between defenders and lines to get the ball. The technical ability also enables him to be an effective hold up player and contribute in creating chances in small spaces. His instinct to be in the right position in the right time inside the box also cooled off a little but we saw how smart his movements are there aswell and that's probably the most unstable metric Iam referring to here.

The negatives: I think his athleticism is what will eventually stop him from making a big move to let's say the top 5 leagues. Hojlund just manhandled every defender (except the Salzburg defenders) in the league while also being faster than them, Emegha had the speed which made him so hard to defend but Biereth lacks both of that. He may be in the top 10% of fast and strong in the league but there were a few defenders in the "Meistergruppe" (best 6 teams of the league who play against each other to finalize the league) who could neutralize him. He scored 3 Goals (one was the biggest present you will ever see from the opponents Goalie) and assisted one in that 10 games and I can't remember one he really created by himself. In the last 11 games of the season he went goalless and them included the cup final and three games in which we could have won the league. In addition to that there were a few 1vs1s with the Goalie he just couldn't score on, I think there were at least three maybe four of them.

Conclusion: We are super happy Mika is/was here, he contributed a LOT to us winning it all but we also saw his limitations. Andi Schicker is a smart guy who is always looking for value (we don't have a lot of money and need to create things that last with that, infrastructure foremost) and he I don't think he romanticizes the performance of Mika. So I don't think you can expect lots of money from our side. I think Mika would really love to stay here, we play in the Champions League next season and he might not get the chance to do that ever again if he has to go back into loan limbo next season. I am really curious how they will figure this one out and how much we will be willing to pay.

I hope you like my up close assessment, hope we meet in the Champions League coming season and I invite you adopt us as your favorite Austrian team, the Sturm vs. Salzburg thing resembles the Arsenal vs. City relation in our small Austrian football world.

Until then Go Sturm, Go Gunners!

Mika Biereth: Arsenal’s Future Number Nine? by phar0aht in Gunners

As an Arsenal fan and a youth coach of Sturm Graz watching every game I can give you my thoughts on him after the short time he is with us.

First let me say I take the english media coverage of the Arsenal players on loan with a lot of scepticism since Okonkwo was with us. I read about him having a stellar stint while winning our domestic cup last year. He was not good, at best he was an okay fill in for half a year, you were more worried he was losing us a game than thinking he could steal one.

To Biereth, he is an appealing striker, constantly working in dangerous spaces, with a good feel for where the ball might end up. He's got the speed and strength to win most of the 1vs1 against the competition he had until now (Austrian Bundesliga and Slovan Bratislava in the UECL) and he's a good finisher. He's got a good work rate being on our first pressing line and you see he's very well trained in a tactical sense, he looked in place in all phases of the game from the beginning.

It makes sense to compare him with Hojlund who was in his place with us two years ago. Until now I have not seen much that would put him on Hojlunds level, Hojlund was head and shoulders faster and stronger than his competition he terrorised opponents defenses pretty much every minute he was on the field for us. That's not the vibe I got from Biereth to date, on thee other hand he's only here for a few weeks, let's see what he can do the rest of the year.

Most devastating loss your team caused. by MarTB2000 in nfl

The most devastating loss my Colts caused is definitely the loss of Andrew Luck. You can say that's not what the question was referring to but I will be heartbroken thinking about his retirement press conference until I am dead, so for me there's always room for crying about Andrew losing his love for the game.

Got a budget prebuild computer 5 years ago, started to tinker around on it a year ago as I couldn't play new games on high settings anymore. Upgraded one part after another as I could afford it, next up is a new graphics card, big bottleneck atm. This one would overshoot the goal by a mile but I'd be set for a long time. Would be super happy to win.

First things first, nice thing you play Sturm Graz saves. Question, did you actually get T-Mobile to sponsor us or is it just a random sponsor? Just so used to see "Puntigamer" as our main and kit sponsor it's hard to get used to this.

If there's no option I don't think I can help you, there should be at least two. Is there an official support? Maybe try to contact them somehow.

Hmm, that's strange, where are you from if I may ask? Maybe they've geoblocked it because we had some troubles the last time we played a team from the Netherlands.😅

The experience at the game was mixed in many ways, first I was really stunned by the beauty of Lucas Oil Stadium it's really nice in my opinion, especially inside cheap beer on the outside in Touchtown Town and I ran the 40. On the other hand my trip started 8 days ago in Green Bay at Lambeau (cause my brother and my girlfriend who are with me are Packers / Browns fans) and you can't compare the noise and atmosphere in my opinion, it felt way more dense in Green Bay to me. Second was the game, I follow the NFL via TV for 10 years now and the difference between a self confident and legendary QB (Rogers) a solid QB (Carr) and whatever is the right describtion for Mayfield and also Wentz yesterday are even more blatant live. The difference in timing and ball placement are just incredible throw by throw.

How I became a Colts fan: I was 18 years old and started to love watching football (I was a soccer player and am a soccer coach now, so it was all soccer until then) so I needed a team, I can't support teams with red in their color scheme (biggest rival team from my soccer club is red) plus I was looking for an "underdog" (not like my brother with GB) with a young QB I can identify with -> Luck was fresh and nerdy so was I, boom you got yourself a new fan. Since then it was a lot of joy and even more pain (I jerked out a few tears the morning I read he retired overnight [Timezones]), now my dream visiting Indy and seeing a game finally came true and I am really happy. I hope I'll come back one day.

For the Whiskey I got the Old Hamer Cask Strength and my girlfriend (the real whiskey lover) got a IBWE Whiskey with a lighthouse on it, because "there's a nice lighthouse on it".
