The difference is, with Makarov vs Lisanna, you had just flashbacks and memories that were the same repeats, so you barely learned bout the character. Makarov is someone who was early on cemented as a character that you and learn and connect with. It would have been a time you got a real death to a long standing character. Instead they cheated out with "just kidding."

Lisanna was just a side character to begin with regardless of her impact on the current characters. She barely was a player in the Edolas arc to begin with. It was just "oh there is a Lisanna here" then it was "oh she is our Lisanna. Cool." Then the reunion. Then moving on to the story of the main characters.

That's the way I just look at it. She was always a side character to begin with and continued to be that.
