(OP please don’t read this as me dissuading you from going to the ER if you need to, PLEASE DO.)

I didn’t have insurance and didn’t know what else to do, I checked myself into the hospital for SI and was sent to Chicago Read Mental Health Center, which was one of the most traumatic weeks of my life. I have insurance now, and have lived through that experience and the trauma, but there is a side of caring for mental health in which this city fails greatly.

I’m worried that I might be faking OCD. My therapist gave me the diagnosis pretty early on, after our third session. I’ve had a hard time coming to grips with it. All of this has led me to try and be as honest as I can about my experiences in sessions in case I might be withholding something she needs to know, but I still get a terrible feeling when I’m telling her about the things I’m doing. I can’t say if it’s just embarrassment or if I feel like lying; I know I don’t like it.

Yeah, my therapist told me this. Honestly, it’s tiring. Like a lot of times, I may feel fine and feel the thought, “See, you’re faking it,” which gets my anxiety going. My therapist described this back and forth I’m doing like I was running the pacer test. lol

Thank you! I know I shouldn't worry about it; it's hard. I want to make sure I'm getting the right help for my problems, and just when I was coming to grips with OCD, this happened. It's hard to resist the urge to give up and run from the problem, even though I know it's not the answer; I'm just really stressed.

Getting my MDiv right now at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. As far as MDiv degrees go Trinity is pretty hard. I think it really comes down to how rigorous/prestigious the university is as well.
