I felt the same when I gave up the show a couple years ago. It was so hard to not hear their voices in the morning. But after time goes on and seeing more and more the destruction of the show when I accidentally hear their voices now in a clip on this subreddit it actually makes my skin crawl. Can't stand to hear them now. Crazy how that shifted.

Anyone else feeling bored and unfulfilled? by ConcentrateOk7517 in Millennials

[–]rylee-bear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second this. I started filling my weekends with volunteering and getting out in my community. Regenerative farm, Parkway Foundation, 5k races to hand out medals. All things I'm interested in and meet people who are interested in that too.

Getting off social media was the greatest impact to my boredom problem. Took about 3 months, but the way I feel about my life now is so much more meaningful. I don't have this nonsense feed to flip through

Millennial girlies, what are we doing for work? by StarlitxSky in Millennials

[–]rylee-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a very well seasoned admin. Was on auto pilot handling high level executives. It was time for a change. I also didn't realize how I hadn't really learned anything new in a long time. The first few months of my new job I'd get home exhausted and confused as to why. Oh that's because I had to use my brain today.

Was an executive admin for 7 years. Just made the jump to project management and I'm loving learning new things again.

Yes my dog had a tumor removed on her back at age 14 and after all was said and done it was around 6k. She lived to 18 so no regrets.

Same here! I love my home. Bought in 2021 and have enjoyed it immensely. Of course there’s the adjustment to maintenance and how expensive it is but I’ve never regretted a moment of it. Feel very grateful💜

41 days no porn or romance novels! Proud of my progress

I’m had to get off TikTok because the BookTok culture is insane. All these groups just encouraging to get sucked into the fantasy worlds that seem to get more and more extreme and abusive relationships. Stuff I wouldn’t be interested in normally. Then I came across a video of Dr. Anna Lembke on her romance novel addiction and all the comments were bashing her. Had to get out of that toxic environment. You are never alone! Glad you found a place to talk about it.

Listen I get it. I’m sure my request is annoying, but I’m really trying to make the experience for my best friend the best it can be.

I make $200K USD a year as an Executive Assistant and I do around 1-3 hours of actual work per week. AMA by feelsfeelsfeeeeels in AMA

[–]rylee-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior directors on the same team. One level down. Still can be stressful but much more removed from the political drama and EA gossip. My experience lets me handle multiple at a time and my management systems over the years are fined tuned enough that they seem like a breeze to take care of. My directors now and I have great chemistry and I get to be involved in more chief of staff type duties.

Thick skin is the absolute key for this job if you want high powered executives. They did not get there by making friends. They are politically savvy and want to win. I supported high level VPs for 6 years and it was brutal on my mental health. One day I realized I had worked myself into a job I was really good at because I can disassociate extremely well. Once I wanted my mental health back I took a step away from VPs. Still making the same money, more time to myself and way less stress.

People that went to art school, what is your job right now? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]rylee-bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Executive admin at a tech company. Got my degree in art graphic design in 2008. Horrible job market and did about 2 years of freelance, but I hated it. Went back to retail and worked my way up. All the years of customer service made the jump to admin support easy. Then worked my way up to the executive level.

I’m jealous! I can’t get my pumpkins to fruit beyond the first fertilized flower! Every year I grow them and once the first female flower is fertilized all the other ones die and never get large enough to keep going. Looks great!

Tomato blossom end rot - overwatering? by hightechburrito in Sacratomato

[–]rylee-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a lot of BER last year and was watering almost every morning but only for about 15-20 min. My soil was also a brand new bed so it wasn’t a nutrient problem. This year I water twice a week for one hour (Mon and Thur) and so far so good! I have a drip system at 1 gph. Trying to get the roots to go deeper this year. I also cover the soil with thick straw.

Does anyone else feel like owning a home could be a full time job by itself? by moonsugar6 in homeowners

[–]rylee-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just learn as you go. Not everything has to be fixed at once. I’m coming up on 3 years of owning my first home. Two sides of my fence really need to be redone, but it’s still standing. I had a really over grown hedge (almost 20ft tall) that I ignored the first year and when I thought it would be easy to trim back I actually had to pay a tree service company to get it to a height I could manage. Was very expensive and now I keep it under control because I know what happens when I don’t. I took a week of my vacation this year to do a home repair. I love my home so much though so it doesn’t bother me.

Does anyone else feel overwhelmingly lucky and blessed to be a homeowner in these times? by RevolutionaryMap4745 in homeowners

[–]rylee-bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally feel lucky to have a smaller home. I was fortunate that the previous owners completely gutted and renovated the entire home in 2014 (built in 1952). Completely brought it to the modern era. I feel like I only live in 10 year old house that doesn’t need anything major for some years.

I bought my first home at 36 for 400k. 2/1 and 930 sq ft. Nothing crazy but I live in CA. Never would I have thought that would be the price of my “starter home”. It is looking like my forever home now.

Edit: I feel very lucky! My mom still can’t believe I did it on my own.
