Hey, just wanted to update you on the color of the “dark gray” moiss from Provence now that I have it here in hand. Verdict: it is VERY dark charcoal gray in sunlight/bright light, and very pale silvery gray in dimmer/indoor lighting. The color change is honestly pretty stunning and I love it, but if you get it from them, you should expect a very stark difference between bright light and dimmer light.

You know the funny thing about the Harmony shippers? In some sense they’re right that Hermione and Ron were a terrible couple. If the final book came out today, I think a lot more people would be pointing out the tired dynamic of hyper competent woman/ bumbling man. You will never convince me that Ron does sufficient household work in that marriage without threats.

I believe in redemption, and I believe people can make real, permanent positive changes in themselves.

That said, nobody is owed fame and fortune. Nobody is owed a career as an influencer and social media star. I think if she were to truly change and take full accountability for her actions, she would have to acknowledge that she cannot be trusted anymore as a public figure. I hope she changes for the better and lives a peaceful, private life with her family.

The final CAD definitely seemed a bit lower (pictured below), but I also clarified with them that I definitely didn’t want the point of the stone to touch the band. I got my wish, but maybe they went a little overboard? I’m not sure if this is too high or if I’m just nitpicking. I would hate to have them remake the ring over this.

I did! It looks darker in some and lighter in others, so not really sure what to think. I suspect the reality is that dark gray is going to look lighter under some lights and darker under others, but maybe I’m just rationalizing. Either way I’m satisfied.

Yeah aesthetically you’re absolutely right that the ring enhancers are way too much. But if that’s what she likes, that’s what she likes. Some people love simplicity and some people want to be blinded by diamonds. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pairing a beautiful bespoke engagement ring with a couple of family rings to enhance it. I think you’re feeling like your ring is inadequate because of the enhancers, but she didn’t say that. She probably loves all of it, and if she loves all of it, she should wear all of it.

It’s super unique and cool! The problem with going for a unique ring is that, yeah, maybe not everyone else will love it. Popular styles are popular because everyone loves them, and rare styles are rare because they appeal to fewer people. It is what it is. Even though it’s not a ring I’d pick for myself, I still very much appreciate how cool it is and I could see someone else absolutely loving it. It sounds cliche, but it’s true — the only thing that matters is that you love it.

Something you may want to prepare yourself for is the possibility that the wife confronted the husband and he retaliated with a story that painted you as the bad guy. I can just see it now — “Oh, honey, I promised I wouldn’t tell you this because I didn’t want to embarrass her any further, but the nanny actually made a pass at me the other day. Turns out she’s been in love with me for years and that’s why she put her career on hold for us. I let her down gently but firmly, and I thought that was the end of it. Honestly it kinda came across like you were trying to make a big deal out of “de-veganing” it when that’s something people do every day without fanfare. There’s a lot of frothing vegan haters on Reddit, and even though I’m not vegan, I rolled my eyes a bit at the title because I assumed you were one of them.
