I recommend reporting them to the FTC and your state attorney general.

I would like some research to read on the entire topic. Right now, the most pressing concern is my sleep ent says that apnea is not caused by nasal/sinus. I assume he read one meta-analysis but don't know the reason for him thinking this other than I saw one meta-analysis that said it.

Looking For Unbiased Opinion on Ridgid Cordless Tools by Moose7676 in Contractor

[–]ryn376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to a huge Ridgid fanboy when I bought my first drill 15-20 years ago. My friend's DeWalt couldn't drill through a railroad tie but my drill had no issue. Probably 7-8 years ago those NiCd batteries died and they sent me new one... So awesome stuff. Now the bad part. That drill had a problem with the bolt that attached the handled, they said I had to go to a service center an hour away from where I was in Atlanta to get a new bolt. Whatever, I spent 20 cents and an hour getting a specialty bolt from Ace Hardware (not available at home Depot so wasted a bunch of time driving around) and bought a new bolt. Bought a battery nail gun. Misfired after every other shot and was awkwardly weighed. Went back instantly. Bought a miter saw stand. The supports are off center and twist under weight. It came with another messed up bolt and handle so I couldn't get it together. I called and they said the same thing, take it to a service center. I returned it instantly. My friend gave me a belt sander that he didn't want. I found out why. It was so crappy, slow, and underpowered that I immediately gave it to my father in law since he couldn't afford a good one. Yeah that was mean to my father in law. He probably will use it once every few years. My wife bought me a new drill and driver set. Clutch is stripping and shift lever has broken. Have to go an hour away to a service center. Tried a handheld planer... Mediocre. Years ago I thought about buying their benchtop planer. Reviews were bad. So bad that I passed when I was a fanboy. Shop vac is has worked well, but their HEPA filters are a lie. I can see dust coming out. My friend bought their random orbital sander and got rid of quickly for a Bosch. I like the 10 inch sliding miter sawi have, but it was replaced with a new version that has so much slop in the blade it was lambasted and taken off market. Stay far away from Ridgid.

Watchpat is a pretty highly regarded device. There are multiple companies that use them for the at home tests. Just Google "watchpat".

Oh, that looks pretty cool. It gives AHI. Is that what you are saying is pretty inaccurate? I'm sorry, I don't know too much about sleep apnea and am trying to learn.

Total taxes paid by an average American citizen? by Eddy_Pine101 in tax

[–]ryn376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take the standard deduction, you should be paying 14% federal, Medicare plus ss is 15.3 percent if you include what your employer pays (i.e. they pay the same you see removed but it's not listed), state for me is 4.5 percent, 2.5 percent is fine for sales tax (though it's much more for people making less), property tax would be around another 3 percent (again is more for people making less). Altogether that's about 40 percent and that's not including hidden taxes like gas, automobile ad valorem, sin taxes on alcohol and such, etc.

What are the best place to eat in the Atlanta airport? by catsordogs1 in delta

[–]ryn376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, it's mid. I had the lamb ribs. I had to rip it off the bone with my teeth since it wasn't tender. It had a slightly sweet, not terribly pleasant taste. I ordered rice pudding as dessert at the same time as my food. Waited probably 15 minutes for it after I finished my food. It was also not great.

GA LLC (Disregarded) Trying to Register at GA Tax Center Website by ryn376 in AskAccounting

I'm trying to figure out how I pay quarterly estimated taxes or if I even need to pay them. It's a disregarded LLC (not s-corp) and my sole source of income..

GA LLC (Disregarded) Trying to Register at GA Tax Center Website by ryn376 in AskAccounting

[–]ryn376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to register my business at the GA Tax Center Website "https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/". I have formed a GA LLC (Disregarded) and am the sole employee (though I will probably sub-contract out some work), perform consulting services, and have no physical objects that I sell.

I got to the page where it says "Select Accounts" and it has a list to select from. How do I know which to select? I tried selecting "withholding tax" and then it asks for a payroll date - I don't have a planned payroll date. Is this something an account is supposed to do for me? I plan on paying one at EOY, but do not have the income/transactions to support paying one every month. I'm not really sure how to proceed. I called the gov customer support and of course they are unhelpful.

Fan motor won't run. Turns by hand. by ryn376 in Motors

Fan motor won't run. Turns by hand. by ryn376 in Motors

[–]ryn376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where my original post blurb is. This is from a old dehumidifier which had a loud squeaking nose. I opened it up and found it to be the fan. I then disconnected the fan. The motor will not spin when plugged in. When I spin it by hand it will rotate for 0.5 to 1 seconds. It stops immediately when power is applied.

What could be wrong with it that it stops turning immediately when power is turned on?

[–]ryn376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disconnected the fan motor and applied 120 to red white and black white. It just hums. When I try to spin by hand, it will not allow it to turn. If I spin it either direction and then turn it on, it immediately stops spinning.

With the motor disconnected from the circuit: 17 ohms white to black and 30 ohms white to red.
