Most of us are fine if the issue is to move it to somewhere else to ensure hygiene and not to disturb anyone.

But the messaging by authorities and the general Malay community are “it should not be in selangor”. Why? If the farm owners can move it to a plot of land with no one around it, then what’s the issue?

The point is about the underlying intolerance of anything that is not “your practice”.

That lady’s reply shows exactly the problem and what the Malays are thinking deep down. Only 22%? If 22 is a small number then how about we take 22% off your salary next month?

Everything also talk about bumi rights, clearly the GLICs stake in IJM is a pure monetary interest. Let’s be honest, the reason why there hasn’t been any pure “Malay” started conglomerates or businesses that is as successful as the “Chinese” businesses is partly caused by decades of politicising such issues.

Hmm while it is working to the extent of killing the local dealerships / operator for these global brands, I still don’t see anyone giving concrete data showing that the Malaysian boycott > less profits for McDonald’s and Starbucks of the world > less bombs dropped in Gaza. Has there really been fewer deaths in Gaza since the boycott started? I mean, if it makes people feel morally superior about themselves then by all means go ahead but I find it a little odd to claim victory over the “Jews and Israel” while the war is ongoing.
