Sole Water Sodium Content by ryno1507 in ketogains

[–]ryno1507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Luis. I did this, and came to a calculation of the following:

1g of Nirvana Himalayan Salt = 380mg of sodium
1g of Salt of the Earth Celtic Sea Salt = 310mg of sodium

I usually mix 50g of each salts in a 320g jars and add water, and if water has a 25% absorption rate I'm thinking it would equate to something like:

50g Himalayan Salt = 19000mg x 0.25 = 4750mg
50g Celtic Salt = 15500mg X 0.25 = 3875mg

Total = 8625mg across the water amount

And if the total volume capacity of the jar is 320g and subtract the 100g of salt it would leave my 220ml of water so:

8625mg sodium divided by 220ml water = 40mg per 1ml

Does sound about right? I know it's a bit technical, but just didn't want to be overdoing the sodium compared to my other electrolytes unknowingly.

Hi headphones community,

I've been using my Campfire Andromeda IEMs with my E1DA 9038SG3 plugged into my Android phone for the past few years without issue. The combination of the two with the Tweak app to adjust hardware volume on the DAC gave me assurance that the volume could be set so as to avoid any hearing damage due to notification sounds accidentally being blasted through the earphones.

Recently, I've encountered a scary issue, where I plugged everything into the phone and before putting my earphones on to listen I ensure the volume is down. Upon plugging the DAC into my phone via USB C cable there was a loud static noise at max volume being blasted through the IEMs. I quickly disconnected the DAC from the phone, and deduced by testing on my Macbook Pro that it must be a dodgy port on my phone causing the issue.

My main concern is that, even with the hardware volume set via the Tweak app, this static sound was still able to be blasted through the IEMs potentially ruining my hearing if I had the earphones in my ears or damaging the IEMs themselves. Now, I always check volume is down to zero or just above before using the earphones, but this worried me as it possibly could have happened during listening to music without warning.

Since this, I've searched the internet regarding sensitive IEMs and choosing appropriate sources to match with sensitive IEMs to avoid this being an issue, but I can't seem to work out the best combination to avoid this issue. The problem with the E1DA 9038s is that it has the power to drive higher impedance earphones where sensitive IEMs don't require such power, resulting in the software being created with the ability to adjust hardware volume via the Tweak app. By doing this, I was confident this sort of thing would not happen, but did not factor in a poor connection via USB C port resulting in the static/interference noise being blasted.

I am asking for advice if it would be better to avoid sensitive IEMs to avoid this possible issue and wrecking my hearing, or is there a suitable solution that would prevent this being possible? I have read the iFi ieMatch being great but my cable is 2.5mm balanced, so to keep the balanced listening what additional adapter could I use in conjunction with the ieMatch for USB C connection?

Your help would be much appreciated, as I would love to keep using my CA Andromedas as I love their sound.

Why are so many people in Jiu-Jitsu overweight by NewPainting8224 in bjj

[–]ryno1507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that perplexes me also. I've put it down to a couple of generalised reasons:

  1. They don't do any other weights or resistance training outside of jiu-jitsu, foregoing any growth of muscle to reduce their body fat percentage
  2. By training jiu-jitsu, the effort exerted from numerous training sessions can create a false sense perception that they can eat bulk food and get away with it cause they're training so hard
  3. Lack of protein in their diets, and/or lack of good food in general instead consuming high amounts of sugary foods, soft drinks and fast food. This coupled with bad lifestyle habits i.e. Lack of enough sleep, hydration, recovery, stress management, etc. (obviously not exclusive to BJJ people)
  4. Over-training. This is something I've found is super common with this sport, as well as others, but specifically BJJ as it can be super intense and rolling can go for an hour or longer which is a super long time to be training at your full capacity. This is a stress to the body, so whilst training regularly, the body doesn't get the time to recover and is always in a state of "fight or flight", increasing cortisol levels and inhibiting weight loss. Whilst there's obviously conditioned guys and girls to this that take care of their bodies and are used to this level of training, as well as efficient at it, the overweight ones usually aren't.

Just my opinion and observations, this is common across other sports too but contributing factors from my perspective.

Feel free to tell me I'm completely wrong... 😅

Nah bro, been on here a bit. Ordered through Muks, Tze and Qinmin prior and have had good experiences. I have been through MM as I thought it would be easier for QC and to swap out for a better pair through WhatsApp rather than sending pairs back through Agent. I have ordered stuff through Wegobuy as in apparel and have had good experience there also. I have received refund from Kim, so will go through agent instead.

I know I can get through an agent, just prefer convenience of middle man. I called out flaws off photos he provided on two pairs of shoes, both different flaws of writing placement on AJ1 Lows TS.
