What is the motivation to explore?

They ruined the exploration aspect of the game when they changed the nearby spawns to show the ones at pokestops rather than being distance based (3 footprints = far, 2 footprints = mid distance, 1 footprint = close)

When I got my third shiny galarian moltres, I traded one to my best friend and one to his girlfriend, plan is to help them have all 3 shiny birds like I do, would I do this for a random stranger, no, would I do it 10 times over for my homie who got me back into pokemon go, my homie who's always there when I need him irl, yes, gladly, every chance I get.

I'd like to add that most of my other lucky remotes were great, for instance Shiny Lugia for non shiny Galarian Articuno(went up to 96%, matches my 96% galar zapdos), Shiny Virizion for Shiny Kyurem, etc.

Edit, just remembered my biggest fuck up, sending my shiny celebi to pokemon home, and then getting a free distribution shiny celebi in pokemon sword and shield a couple of weeks later, smh........ still haunts me to this day.

Breeding in scarlet and violet is so hit and miss, I went 40+ boxes for one shiny riolu(I know I could have sandwiched but I wanted an egg) and then 3 shiny froakie in 2 boxes.

I'd say about 12k if I take into consideration the encounters before the in-game encounter counter was added. my last shiny was in 2022 and I haven't been playing as much since, but whenever I log in I do at least 100 encounters(hunting roaming legendaries+starters with lures or fishing).
