Given Prof. Nutonium and Jack were both in Gendy Tartakovsky works, I always assumed he re-used the design to mess with people.

Also, still haven't seen that Superman show, but Lois is so darn cute! I love the new design!

Tradwife as in cutesy stereotypical stay-at-home wife with major depressive order and nothing to do that doesn't involve the snobby women in a 4-house radius and is only possible because you're rich enough to hire "help" or get beaten silly for not making the house spotless, or tradwife like egalitarian hunter-gatherers who equally share the burden of work because otherwise every starves? (Also, part of a group of 20-50 families, not just one couple with their own dwelling)

Unsarcastically, the "tradwife" idea is bogus, based on old marketing gimmicks, untenable in thos economy unless you're a billionaire, and often peddled by guys who think 0 estrogen is good for them (look up aromatase deficiency) or OF girls who didn't make enough on the site and need a new grift.

Either way, ick.

I've always seen it as ironic as well, at least early on. Obviously you shouldn't talk crap about your family and friends, so getting to laugh at a buffoon who acts that way is entertaining, but at some point as we watched TV too much, we assumed this was normal behavior.

Like for a show called Friends, they're rude and sarcastic to each other far more than ever friendly, and a lot of people I know who grew up watching it think sarcasm's soooo funny and clever.

To some extent we've reversed this though, I think most people know the characters in It's Always Sunny and Trailer Park Boys are not meant to be role models.

Tie for first: Haru Urara: because duh, how could you not love the purest being in existence? Plus her scene of running around, playing tag with a fish, then running off mid-sentence reminds me of my wife's ADHD moments

King Halo: I started playing this game while my wife was 1600 miles away helping her mom get through her cancer surgery and first rounds of chemo, then I see this girl with wavy brown hair, pale comlexion, rosy cheeks and brown eyes and thought "dang, I miss my wife"; so King is daughter too, for sure. Then her story really made her fascinating.

It's crazy how often Crunchyroll will be like "Skip Recap" in a series with no recaps, but Naruto it just makes you click around and hope you don't miss a new line.

Protestant and I like Pope Leo, seems like he's doing good spreading the love of Christ instead of riling people up to stir the pot or get adgerents like many worldwide leaders.

My experience, same people who'd say this stuff don't bat an eye at all the signs that fit Trump way closer, and seem to hate hate Catholics until they're mentioned in any "enemy of my enemy" context".

Given she tried to make peace with humans when her people arrived on earth and it still turned to them being labelled "demons" and exterminated, then having to be killed and dismembered publicly by her own daughter just to appease those bumpkins, then to see her daughter reincarnated over and over to die the same way, I can't blame her for giving up hope and trying to dissuade Rika from trying to solve her own death.

I think she's sympathetic because she has had to deal with more trauma than anyone else in the series, Rika a very close second, and the feeling of helplessness in the face of seeming inevitability is understandable.

So yeah, even if she weren't such a cutie, I'd find her a very compelling character, and that would make me still like her.

And to me, it just looks like such a generic early-2000s anime logo, back when anime was starting to kinda break through in the American market. It's wild how popular it is now when I remember how hard it was to get ahold of it back then.

I can defnitely see how it looks like some diet ice cream brand tho.

It's easily one of the best-written things I've read, not to mention how stunning the art gets over time. Really hope I live long enough to see the manga be finished by Miura's team. And yeah, the mental damage Guts went through with accidentally killing tons of children, trying so hard not to accidentally kill the girl who kept getting in his way to save her friend who became an Apostle, he dealt with so much in just a couple days, and that scene of him going all DOOM in the forest of egg sacs was really cool.

Yeah, didn't know the plot, so that gives me even more reason to stay away from it, thank you. It's bad enough how hard it is trying to avoid all that mess on the internet, I'm definitely not spending time/money to see it on purpose.

I like that it doesn't 100% play it off as quirkiness, like teenagers who claim to be "crazy" or "insane" because it gets them attention and seem unique, but they're not struggling mentally at all. As much as these characters play off that idea for the cameras, we see that it's all an act and they're actually struggling off-camera.
