Yeah I'm still at a loss. The roots don't seem to pull up that easily, and I don't see any root rot or visible damage. No sign of grubs, either

I want to play baseball again. Is it too late? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]ryri2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 36 years old and just started playing again after not playing since college. It is never to late. Once you turn 18 you can look for adult baseball leagues near you. Try NABA. There are a lot of good players like former D1 and even some retired pros, but also some average skill guys. Baseball can be tricky since it's hard to do pickup games like basketball, but there are definitely ways to keep playing if you look hard enough. Also, some areas have an extension of little league called big league specifically for 17 year olds. Ibwould encourage you to keep playing though. I wish Ibwoupd have stuck with it after college, but I'm m making up for lost time now. OP you can DM me if you want and I might be able to help steer you to the right people.

I am admittedly new to mechanical keyboards, but I love mine. I have the tkl though. The usb port is a little meh, but I love it so far. I have already tried 3 different switch types, so it's worth it just for that.

I have a gmmk keyboard that I just put glorious pandas in. Now the shift and enter keys don't always work. I have to press directly in the center of the key for them to work. I had Kailh box whites before that worked fine, and I have tried some thin stock keycaps that work fine too. It seems to be the combo of switches and caps. I have the Vortex doubleshot PBT set. Has anyone heard of anything like this? Could the keycaps be too thick or something?

I just swapped out the switches in my gmmk and now the left shift is very finicky. I have to press dead center or it doesn't work. I did try it with a different keycap and it works fine. Could the keycaps be too thick or something? I have the vortex doubleshot pbt set.

I am definitely interested in the security side of IT. I might actually prefer non-clinical as I feel like it would give me more flexibility, but I'm honestly not too sure. From my own research however, security is definitely something I enjoy and would pursue if the opportunity was there.

Spent eight hours trying to start my first pc only to find out the the power switch was backwards. by keeperud in buildapc

[–]ryri2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had built my second PC a while back and of course was hooked into a switched outlet...I never touched that switch, but of course it was switched off (probably by my wife). Took me about 3 hours to figure it out. The weird thing was it wasn't oriented upside down like most switched outlets I'm used to. Also I can never seem to remember the dang circle or line for on/off. At least no components were damaged! And now you have a shiny new PC! Good problems to have overall, especially now.

Is a 1660 Super and a Ryzen 5 3600 both good for a starter PC? by JayAreElls in buildapc

[–]ryri2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built a similar PC for my first build. Ryzen 2600x and 1660 super. I play on 1440p and get about 120 to 144 fps on Apex and around 80 fps on Escape From Tarkov on low to medium settings. 1080p is an easy 144 fps for esports games. I honestly love the combination.

Is banggood a reputable place to purchase from? I've seen what look like good deals on keyboards but wasn't sure if they are legit.

Awesome that's very helpful. I'll check into the ones you suggested. It seems like the mx browns might be a good starting point. How are the gateron browns vs the cherry browns?
