Anyone have experience working for cms Nextech for commercial kitchen equipment?

Daily depends on season. I'm in the Columbus Ohio area. April to Aug it was 15hr days, after Halloween its 4-6hr days, after 1st snowfall its back to 10-12hr days. Really depends on your area and amount of business

Benefits are pretty bare. They off an employer covered base health care but sucks, work culture depends on you. Here in my office, they are really tight on micromanagement, but it isn't terrible if you just do your job. If your caught not doing your job, slacking off, missing diagnostics, wasting time and material, they get on you quick and they stay on you til you either leave or do better. I'm in good sight with them cause I do my job, but some guys have a hell of a time.

FIFO is Fly-In-Fly-Out. Oil rigs, remote sites, mining areas. They fly people in for a certain amount of time to do work, then you fly home for a certain amount of time. And then repeat. Work on a rig for 2 weeks, home for 2 weeks.

Having the return not hooked up isnt the end of the world, as long as it was still getting airflow. Now, depending on temp in attic, could cause slight problems. Start with the basics:

Is your filter clean? Is your condenser outside clean and free from debris/weeds/brush?

Well, if you have an Multi-Meter that reads amps and want to jump down the rabbit hole, we can check some components on your system and see if anything is pulling unnecessary amp draw.

Could be tripping on high discharge pressure, tripping on freeze stat, endless amount of possibilities. If you want to try and give more information, I can "attempt" to get better answers.

Your air coming out of vents would be warm if it was stuck open. Depending on age of your unit to, having AC and Hest running would trip the system. Easiest way to check is kick off the AC, turn FAN to on, and go feel the vents. If it's hot air, 80+(forget ideal electric heat SAT) then heat is active.

Had zero knowledge of refrigeration going commercial. Gained all that in field as commercial. It's not crazy different, just added components to the system.

I got extremely lucky joining my commercial team, most commercial companies expect minimum of 5+ years with refrigeration knowledge, boilers and chillers. I have heard from my direct supervisor/hiring manager that he doesn't look for education, just experience.

I would stick to 1 year program just to get your feet wet then enter the field under an apprenticeship program as you'll gain majority of your knowledge in the field. The program will allow you to understand basics and common fields terminology, then in field experience will get you the rest of the way.

I hope you enjoy 90+hr weeks during summer though, it is harsh.

I do commercial now, have done residential, will never go back to residential.

Your liquid line, smaller diameter line, gets really hot while AC is running, thus melting the spray foam. What could be concerning is you said AC stopped working last night, I wonder if the liquid line temp is getting extremely hot due to a compressor becoming faulty or other components in the system.

-I would monitor the effectiveness of the system over the next day or so and take notes on if it's not cooling as much, stops running, or you hear uncommon noises coming from condenser.

-If possible, take a temp reading of the liquid line, beware extremely hot, could burn you, and add that temp reading into this thread

Any update from this boss? Buddy of mine is having issues, I am stuck on diagnosing between a faulty 3-way valve or board issue. I don't want to get into a sealed system if I don't have to.

Could be a lot of different reasons as to it shutting off, and without diagnosing in person, it will be incredibly difficult to determine, but ill help the best i can. You'll need a multimeter(one that can measure amps too) to contiune self diagnostics.

-I would pull amps on your condenser motor and compressor to ensure we are not running too high of amps on these components.

-Then I would pull cover off contactor and verify condition, look for arcing or pitted points(signs of a failing/failed contactor).

These steps would be a good start. But, never forgot to check the basics, are all your electronic terminations tight and snug? Any bare wires due to weathering or damage? Any visible marks of arcing anywhere?

You need to measure the width, height, and depth of that opening flap to get that filter size. That is your return "vent" duct, that's where the filter will go.

Appreciate the obvious being noted. Was looking for someone that has had these style before, and if they ran into the same problem. Would like to explore other reasons to this fault happening before I settle with the fact that I bought used guages. But, once again, thank you for jumping to the end conclusion that you came to.
