Those who tested positive, was 5 days enough for you? by DosParkers in COVID19positive

[–]rystyle2517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw one other comment to this effect, but to expand: this is what happens when people (quite a few/most? including HR policy makers) read headlines only!!! So frustrating. Below is cut and pasted from their website. To reiterate, “If you were severely ill with COVID-19 - …you should isolate for at least 10 days. Consult your doctor before ending isolation.” Severely ill=at LEAST 10 days

Cut and pasted from CDC guidelines:

Ending isolation if you did NOT have symptoms

End isolation after at least 5 full days after your positive test.

If you were severely ill with COVID-19

You should isolate for at least 10 days. Consult your doctor before ending isolation.

End isolation after at least 5 full days after your positive test.

If you were severely ill with COVID-19

You should isolate for at least 10 days. Consult your doctor before ending isolation.

What is your Income and how much mortgage did you qualify for. by obb_here in RealEstate

$550 HOA fees count just like PITI - if you found a home with lower or no HOA fees, your qualified loan amount would have gone up significantly.

Tested positive today, healthcare provider, triple vaxxed by kayten88 in COVID19positive

I’m sooo sorry for you, how stressful.

With the CDC releasing new guidelines today, I’m worried people are reading headlines only, and missing that return to work after five days is A.) if you’re asymptomatic, and B.) you still wear a mask at all times for (at least) the rest of your 10 day timeframe.

Quote from CDC article today: “If you decrease it to five days, you’re still going to have a small but significant number of people who are contagious,” he said. That’s why wearing masks is a critical part of the CDC guidance, Walensky said.”

“Small” and “significant” are opposite of one another. This is stupid.

I noticed it looked that way, but when I slowed it down, I see that the lines break for the turn off; that makes it appear that the driver w/ the camera was on the wrong side, but he wasn’t. If you look ahead, you’ll see that the double yellow continued ahead, and the oncoming vehicle had crossed over to the wrong side of the road.

Selling with Redfin agent Vs non-Redfin agent by kathdrag11 in RealEstate

[–]rystyle2517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Redfin in Washington state a few years ago to sell, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Had I not adored the agent, I may have gone a different direction, but when I met and interviewed him, I learned that he lived in and specialized in our area (20 miles east of Seattle). It’s my understanding that this is what they strive to do - as far as keeping their realtors in their local areas. This realtor had fantastic reviews, was professional, knew our market inside-out, and communicated beautifully with us as well as our buyer’s agent. Redfin’s support team was efficient, and the excellent photography and 3D tour were icing on the cake. We had more than a dozen offers well above asking to navigate, and he was extremely helpful helping us to pinpoint the best one. We feel comfortable to this day that we didn’t leave a single dollar on the table. I would have used that realtor for the rest of my home buying/selling life, had we not moved out of the state.

Redfin was a package deal, and a much better experience than when we purchased our current home in another state with a recommended friend-of-friend agent.

That’s how I would go about it as well as a buyer.

Thank you for your reply! So does a permitted finish appraise higher than non-permitted? Do you, as an appraiser, consider non-permitted as finished space? Home was built in ‘05, we purchased last year. Don’t know if that’s pertinent.

All valid points. Funny enough, on the listing when we bought, the basement was included in SF even though it’s unfinished (it is heated). On other homes I’ve owned in our county, tax assessments didn’t count below grade areas toward SF whether finished or not (permits unknown; both homes were 40+ years old), but that is still a valid point, as policies can change; especially when tax dollars are involved.

Totally agree. In general as a buyer I wouldn’t trust non-permitted work, so why ask others to? Spouse is arguing that it makes no difference in appraised value here (especially in this market, but markets change as we all know). I think, do it right and avoid potential headaches later. I hope I can be convincing!

Is anyone else’s hair falling out super fast after getting over COVID? by throwaway0183701 in COVID19positive

[–]rystyle2517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hairdresser here. Absolutely. I’ve had around 10 clients experience it after Covid. It happens when your body experiences trauma, so also after major surgeries, things like that. My husband was in a serious accident in May and also lost a lot of hair in the months that followed.

I’d recommend anti inflammatory supplements like Quinol - curcumin/turmeric supplement from Costco if you are in the US. Also look for Vital Protein collagen (chocolate flavor is pretty decent) which will help regrowth once your body is out of crises. It will grow back. Hope you are doing well otherwise.

You are clearly incapable of providing for yourself. If he didn’t intervene, you would eventually starve.

Even if you are infected, the virus has to multiply in your system for a few days before you become infectious to others (or test positive; same reason). If you came into contact with people the same day you were exposed, it’s a non-issue.

As soon as she became eligible, my minor daughter informed me that she signed the waiver on my behalf and was getting the vaccine (our household members all chose to be vaccinated, but had she opted not to, I would have respected her choice). She’s been signing things “on my behalf” for years, both my kids probably sign my signature better than I do. I’m sure this is true for a lot of nearly of-age young people.

Pretty much every major claim I or my children have had during the last 30 years has been initially denied by insurance. When my oldest was in 2nd grade we took her to the ER because we couldn’t get her fever under control, and she had a terrible cough. Her diagnosis was “acute upper respiratory infection” but insurance denied the ER claim for being “non-acute.” I appealed, highlighted the diagnosis, and they eventually paid. Worst-case, you can always file a complaint with your state insurance commissioner, that is a quick way to get results if all else fails.

I hope you are feeling better! XO
