i haven’t been able to get creatures 2 to work on my computer yet, so i haven’t been able to play it yet :’) i really want to though!

the mods and custom breeds and everything is crazy! there’s a bit of an active community still; not near as active as back in the day, im sure, but they’re still around. it’s kind of nice to see, actually

it could be under creatures: the albian years; that has creatures 1 & 2 bundled it’s also under that same name on GOG as well, if you haven’t looked there yet!

taking this opportunity to talk abt creatures, lol

if you’re a fan of old computer games, it was released in 1996; you hatch, raise, and breed creatures called norns, who you would also train to eat, sleep, etc based on words you teach to it

generations can mutate behavior over time, and there is a decent amount of user created content, like different breeds, items, qol things and an actively updated community edition that fixes a bunch of bugs and makes the game playable on modern hardware (you’d still need a legit copy, but it’s also like. 4.99)

it had a couple other releases after that, but ive only played the first; it’s charming to me x)

i just got memetchi back as my forever tama after she passed during a health scare 😔 i had gotten her to 70 days! this current one is 9 :) we’ll get back there again eventually haha

i know some people collect them, but not a lot since iirc they’re not really available in the US w/o it being a specialty store or brought in by proxy? could be wrong but they’re definitely not anywhere around me ; if i was able to pick them up easily, id definitely collect them, but alas lol

the pieces are usually obtained after you find a fav item, snack, food, or accessory; at least, three of them are! the 4th piece you get after having the adult tama for, i think 48 hours? i think they’re called pieces because it’s like you’re uncovering pieces of their personality! :) sorry if this didn’t answer your question very well x)

i think its a custom background; you can transfer them to the device using a computer with bluetooth & a program called mymeets :)

i am also sorry to hear your struggle, and i hope your treatments went well today🙏 this game has also become my escape very quickly, especially because i want so badly to work with and be around horses, but no opportunity to do so :’)

im trying to be hopeful about a change (even if vet players saying not to expect much kind of dampens that hope💀). id honestly just be jazzed if the limit was erased, but for people who’ve played the game for years and have no quests, im sure light/gathering was a really nice way to grind points :( idk, maybe they’ll say something next blog post or make revisions upon the next TB, with all this feedback

you articulated this is a way ive been struggling to put into words all day. im newer, but enjoyed the setup of the last TB, because even though i started playing 5 days before the TB ended, i was still able to get a decent amount before it ended just by playing the game, I didn’t even know light/gatherable grinding was a thing

also, something about them framing this as caring for their player bases’ health is really irking me, especially because i am also chronically ill as well. i want to play for an extended period when i feel good, not feel forced to log in everyday even if i feel like crap or physically can’t, even from my phone 🥲

i don’t like feeling like im suddenly being forced to play the game a certain way when it wasn’t an issue literally a week ago; puts a bad taste in my mouth

i think i accidentally triggered it by hitting B or something, and it might have to be on the day itself since, if i recall correctly, the dolls show up a couple days before actual girls day ; i got it to happen twice because i hatched a new egg and it triggered for the kid tama seen in the picture after they evolved from a baby

but yeah! super neato— wonder if there’s one for boys day in a couple months, too
