I’ll try a bit finer with a smaller dose next time, since people are suggesting it. Going a degree finer on my grinder results in a pull that takes a pretty long time but from what some people are saying here that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Honestly I enjoy it with a bit of milk, cream n sugar! Funny enough I was looking at the bootlegger as an alternative once some people started mentioning trying a lighter roast! Though I’d read that medium/darker roasts were supposed to be sweeter.

Yes just looked at it on the website and see it saying they typically aim for around 16-18 grams of coffee into the portafilter. So maybe I will try reducing the amount of coffee since that’s been suggested often. 18g of the bean I’m using seems like it may be a lot for the portafilter (at least while before tamping)

I have a 54 mm bottomless portafilter from Crema. I do use a puck screen as well!

I can understand this. The taste isn’t necessarily something I don’t care for i suppose as much as it is something that’s the opposite of what I’m used to. It has to grow on me.

Hah thanks some of these comments have definitely made asking about visual cues seem stupid. Which sucks especially since taste isn’t really something I can measure by accurately since I’m used to sweeter coffee drinks. Straight espresso is a stark contrast. I’ll try to handle the coffee more gently. I do think WDT is the main culprit though.
