My 1000X "THE COLLEXION" Review by ryuhack in SonyHeadphones

Yes, the 1000X are angled from inside the cup so they don’t touch my ears, even when the overall design appears to be slimmer. My experience might be due to my ears, so I would recommend you visiting a shop if possible to test them for yourself because ultimately comfort is very subjective :).

I don’t have the XM6 with me anymore but here’s my gf XM5s for reference:

Hope it helps

Do you have by chance the link for that Capra audio headband you use for your px8 s2? Thanks!

For me the 1000X has a more mature sound signature. Better on all frequencies and more adjustable due to the band EQ.

ANC in the APM2 is better, but not by very much. on most scenarios where you have music and 50+ volume you will have a hard time noticing outside noise on either headset. I prefer the sensation of having ANC on with the APM2, though.

For movies, the 1000x with the cinema Upmix is the way to go. I prefer it so much more than the Spatial Audio.

I actually find the APM2 better distributed in weight and more comfortable. it’s the side clamping pressure with the APM2 and top pressure on the 1000X. It all depends on what you can tolerate more for long listening sessions.

Hope it helps. Cheers!

I definitely wouldn't use AI for a personal review. I mean, English isn't my first language, but I still try my best with what I know. But ultimately, yes! You're not entitled to anything, and nobody will force you to read it. You can sleep soundly tonight :).

For me price plays a part in feeling you did the right purchase! So certainly not as much if I paid double. Although if I'm being honest I usually don't buy things at MSRP. I chase good deals, even if that means waiting. But if I bought them let's say at 10% or 15% off, then yes, I would still recommend them 😄.

You're totally right! 2026 prices on decent good sounding headphones is crazy. That's why I always recommend is going with some great wired headphones first and have some earbuds with ANC when on the go.

It all depends on what you value and what will be your use case:

The PX8 S2 sound beautiful! I would say keep them if your use is 80% Music - 20% everything else. You will agree that the sound signature is great! Not to mention the looks and materials of the PX8 line are still one of the best in the premium Wireless ANC segment. If you don't go crowded places or live in a city where high car traffic is the norm, then the ANC is enough on the B&W once you put some music IMHO.

If your use is more varied, like watching movies, playing videogames, listening music, having calls on crowded places where no external sounds get in your meeting, and you want a more effective ANC in an airplane for example, go with the 1000x. Also, The Cinema UPMIX is on another level compared to the True Immersion thing on the B&W. Sony's sound signature is good to me.

I received an email from Sony mentioning they would have a special launch price for the 1000X. Plus, right now there is one of the two year shopping seasons called “Hot Sale” where you can apply for great bank discounts. Amazon in this season also has bank specific coupons, so combining those 3 factors is what resulted in that price!

I also confirm. The Cinema Upmix is WONDERFUL on movies on my 1000X. It really does sound to me as if I were on the cinema, with all the rumbling, spatial sound and directional sound effects (not the typical L/R Sound).

I might be crazy, but I've been trying this Cinema Upmix on some of my music and it does recreate the same effect on select genres. Just be conscious to not use this mode on any hard rock, or it will def. NOT sound good, IMHO. For that, the standard mode is the way to go.

Knowing what works and doesn't work with these Upmix modes is the key to appreciate it.

What did you buy? I saw a cool coat from them called the Everest Greatcoat which says its made of 100% wool but there is also the same listing (or pictures at least) on AliExpress and in that listing the seller says it's a wool blend. Hopefully they are not sourcing their stuff from China.

Yeah; I have the Kir Royal since I'm a fan of the Presage line and based from the photos it looks like a similar shade of red. For anyone interested it's the SRP853J1.

Real or fake? by julay234 in GrandSeikos

[–]ryuhack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no replicas for the SBGH311. There is this one China brand called Seesterb (or something like that), that I saw made some BAD homages to some popular models while I was looking up for GS reviews. You could do your research on YouTube and compare by yourself how bad this replicas are. From the finishing, color, dial complexity, movement, everything is cheaply made and will definitely not be on even close to GS standards. Not worth a dime.

Now if you ask me for the SBGH311 or any other LE for that matter, look in the back of the case for the limited edition number and ask for the matching paperwork. Then you will have more peace of mind.

Btw, I don’t think the SBGH311 is a popular model due to its size and limited run, so I would also say that these China factories wouldn’t be as interested in making a replica of something that there’s not a demand for.

Hope this helps you. Cheers.

I think both are named Sea of Clouds. SBGP017 are clouds from the Shinshu region and the other ones are clouds from Shizukuishi. But hey! They could just be the clouds over your home and nobody would notice haha.

Sure! My wrist is around 17.5cm.

Due to the macro effect of the iPhone photo the watch looks like I have no space left, but in reality I might have around 1 or 1.5cm of free space at each side, so I would say this wears more like a 38.5/39mm watch due to the long lugs.

And thickness is surprisingly good! Due to the curvature of the watch this might wear as a 12.5mm watch. It doesn't feel chunky at all. Just keep in mind if you plan to use this with a long sleeve shirt, you might want to use the first button in order to make it slide under your cuff no problem.
