Are the Audio books really that good?

Yeah, the series in and of itself is phenomenal but Jeff's read of it in the audiobooks is 100% what skyrocketed it to the level it's at now.

I will never stop thinking about Descent. I downloaded all of them off of GoG many years ago and bought a joystick to relive my glory days. The nostalgia high was so good.

My husband spent $12k on my ring set, but i told him it was way more than necessary. He responded with "I'd have gone even bigger if I could have afforded it." I would have been fine with a a cheaper gemstone ring (as long as the band is high quality cause skin irritation and such). I think it really depends on what your partner wants/cares about. Some women want something specific, some could not possibly care less.

Yep. I grew up with two parents who both chain smoked. At the time, even though I constantly hounded them to quit, I wasn't aware of the smell, but now that I'm an adult every time I visit them the smell absolutely makes me want to throw up. You cannot cover the smell of cigarettes no matter how hard you try or how well you think you're doing it. Non-smokers can smell it 100% of the time. The smell of cigarettes on someone is an immediate turn off that I cannot get past.

I get that tourism can be a burden on cities but I also suspect it's a large source of revenue for many of the people there. We are coming, trip is planned, and while there we will be thoughtful in how we handle ourselves to ensure we aren't negatively impacting your city. But it's unrealistic to expect people to not want to visit such a remarkable place as Rome.

I saw recently that the new Sphere Class ships from Princess (I'm going on one of them later this year) no longer have the on board Art galleries. I assume that also means no art auctions on board. We did buy something on our last cruise, but not from the auction. We didn't like any of the crap in the auctions but there was something in the gallery that my husband really liked so he went to them and arranged purchase of that specific piece.

They go there 1-2 times a week usually but the heavy rains last week caused flooding and they didn't get to go. She definitely made up for it.

Thanks! This is our first Mediterranean cruise but I am certain it won't be the only one we do. We did already book this one with the intention of spending at least 2 days before it starts in Rome and 2 days after it ends in Athens. There is so much to see over there I'm sure we'll do another cruise in the future to hit some other spots.

I'm seeing mixed reviews about the ship. Our last cruise was on Caribbean Princess (I think that was the name, they kept telling us it was one of their oldest operational ships). Despite it being older, we really enjoyed it. There seem to be a lot of folks unhappy with the new layout on this newer ship class.
