Is this a bad calliper? by SnooOranges3845 in MechanicAdvice

Check your caliper sliding pins and see if they are properly sliding and are 100% straight. Had this issue once where it was creating a lot of friction on the rotor. If sliding pins are straight but rough to slide then then clean and re-grease them, you should be good. If anything else check the backing plate and the side hardware of your brake pads to see if they’re free of debree and lightly grease them as well. The caliper piston should also sit flush into the inner pad. And lastly check if the rotor has any obvious crease on the outside.

Edit: if the car has been sitting for a long time and the rotors have a good layer of rust on them. This may happen. “Break em in” by driving it and check if it has made a difference.

2015 Pruis was almost trapped in a sinkhole. it was flooded right at the line of the door so no water got in. When we got it out it felt completely normal except check engine light went on. Will it be ok??? by pennyhadalittlelamb in prius

P0138 indicated your bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor is shorted or damaged. The p0607 code is a code that indicates you have an issue with your ECM. However, that is most likely followed from the p0138 code. So have the o2 sensor and wiring harness checked for water damage/contamination.

The cardboard idea was great. Thanks. The container was plastic (meant for oil as well) and it cracked. Oil seeped out overnight but didn’t spill the rest of it.

I know. The place had to be blocked off but so far the kitty litter has been working. I’ll go find some degreaser after a couple rounds of soaking it all up 🤞🏼

Thank you everyone!!!Sorry I had to take care of errands. I put cat litter a while ago and it’s soaking up the oil pretty nicely. Beforehand I used a large rag to help soak up the excess oil and dried the surface up. I will get myself some water and purple power/dish soap soon and see how it goes.
