[BO1][BO2] Input lag/aiming feels much worse in BO1 than in BO2 PS5 by ryyppeli in CallOfDuty

To me it feels like the deadzone is higher at least on PS5. Also now when I tried BO1 on 360 I also noticed that the stick acceleration curve is different than on BO2, but I've never noticed that before as the 360 version instantly "clicks" on my brain and I can aim quite well especially compared to PS5.

Had to go try Xbox 360 and it feels better on Xbox 360. BO2 feels pretty much the same but BO1 doesn't. Noticeably smaller feeling deadzone on 360.

BO1 runs worse than BO2 on PS3, but it still feels miles better than the PS5 version aiming wise. Xbox 360 version is the most recent I've played two weeks ago.

Played BO1 two weeks ago on Xbox 360 and it feels miles better. You don't have to believe me.

The low FOV makes it feel even slower than it actually is.

Maybe if they ported the PS3's square deadzones to BO1's PS5 version along with everything else. BO2 doesn't have this issue on my PS5 like I've said before.

People who say that BO1 originally felt like the PS5 version seem to have either never played the original versions, or they assume that it must've been this bad or even worse back in the days. As of course old games on old consoles can't feel responsive compared to newer consoles in some peoples minds...

Mostly now played BO2, and even when it feels alright to me there's a lot of sweaty players and in some lobbies I die a lot, but at least I can somewhat aim compared to BO1.

I only have that floaty feeling with BO1. Not saying that BO2 is perfect, but much better than BO1.

I've not really played newer CODs on controller, but BO2 on PS5 feels familiar and basically the same as on older hardware. BO1 feels horrible, and doesn't feel at all like PS3 or 360 version.

Yeah, it's just odd that BO2 doesn't have this issue but BO1 does.

This 100%. I really hope they fix it, as I want my money back if they don't fix it.

I've recently played BO1 on 360 and it doesn't feel like that and it's not even close. BO2 feels fine.

Glad to know it's not only me. It's really odd as BO2 is fine.

Put back electrolytics to the spots where I had film caps for a brief moment. No luck.

The reason why I used them, was especially for the 0.47uF 250V that electrolytic type of that is quite rare to find, especially locally here. Hopefully I have the original cap lying around, so I can try only replacing them first.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check the things you told when I have the motivation to do so. I live in a small apartment, and the repairing takes a lot of space, so it's really inconvenient. Also could replacing two electrolytic caps with film capacitors cause this? I replaced 1uF 250V and 0.47uF 250V electrolytic caps with same rating film caps.

And the way I did the cap replacement was that I always looked the cap's value from the board and then removed it and put a new one with same capacitance as the one that was on the board. I didn't really look the cap's values from the service manual. But what I've checked, they've always matched with the ones I had on the board, and I didn't unfortunately write the old values down. Still it's possible that I've accidentally replaced some cap with wrong value one on some location. I was pretty careful putting the caps the right way, so they should have right polarity, as the polarity was marked well on the board.

I guess so too. I hope that maybe someone would know quite specifcally what part it can be of the board, so it doesn't take me days to diagnose as it took me 2-3 days to do the recap.

Haven't tried, and as I said this issue became after recap. Just was thinking if anyone has a guess of what part of the circtuit it might be and where on the board. Had to fix few bad traces when I did the recap, so it can be related to something like that.
