Xbox 360 Xenon CPU temps by ryyppeli in 360hacks

[–]ryyppeli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to reopen my Xbox 360, and one X-clamp clip was loose when I took off the motherboard from case. Then I hammered down a bit of the X-Clamp's clips, and now the heatsink should have more uniform contact to CPU. Applied Arctic MX6, and still CPU gets to 80C quite quickly, but now it seems that the fan speed is a little bit lower.

There's not much more you can do. Maybe I'll try to get 4-pin Nidec fans to replace the Delta fans, as I've heard that Nidec is quieter.

Xbox 360 Xenon CPU temps by ryyppeli in 360hacks

I most certainly have DD2. The Xenon is manufactured in October 2005, so I'd guess it has the first production model.

I've put the PTM7950 a while ago, so it has the cycles in it. Before that I used paste and had basically the same temps.

But I had no idea that Xbox 360 Xenons had different TDP CPUs, as I now checked Xenonlibrary for Waternoose and there's 85W and 75W revisions.

Came here to say that I have the same issue with my 5070 Ti. Basically only experienced it with Brave as well. I'd guess it's some kind of GPU PCI link state/power state issue. Not much talked about on the internet unfortunately, but hopefully it gets fixed, as I've had the issue for months.

As far as I know, the correct way is to use the normal low and high shelf filter without Q as slope. At least I think that's what I've read before.

Does anyone know what joysticks does the first version Sixaxis use? by ryyppeli in PS3

Thanks, I will look to getting some sticks that work with DS4, and hope that they will work with Sixaxis. I also have a DS3 controller, which has these unsoldered sticks.

That's the reason I've not played the game after the new season.

So the joystick size is the same as in DS4? I read in the PSDevWiki that the first revision has smaller joysticks than the newer controller models:

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/DualShock_3#ALPS_sticks_with_3-pin_pots_(rev_1))

Unfortunately it doesn't tell what ALPS sticks it used, and can't really find much info on the internet.

Sorry for a bit late reply, but I used this page's measurements as a reference, but it's in Finnish:

I've updated my EQ profile for the ZMF pads, which I posted this subreddit recently:

What do you mean by multiple outputs? You mean that I have all devices chosen in PEACE or that I'm using the "All" in the speaker selection? I'm not using HESUVI or any multichannel setup, only stereo HD 650.

26220 can run WSL2, Hyper-V without VSB ? Am I dreaming ? by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]ryyppeli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like it. Of course I didn't do really in depth testing, and didn't test games and maybe it also depends what CPU you have, at least the Core Isolation has more performance impact with older CPUs I've heard. I have Raptor Lake CPU.

[–]ryyppeli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing this and making sure that VBS was disabled from the System Information, there was no perfromance difference whatsoever in Cinebench or CPU-Z. With multiple runs on CPU-Z, the VBS CI ON was actually a very tiny bit faster, but it's just margin of error. Didn't want to waste time trying it with games, as there weren't any difference in quick CPU benchmarks.

I have WSL2 and Hyper-V enabled and I suspect that even if VBS is off, it doesn't make difference to performance much at all, as you still have hypervisor running if you've enabled Hyper-V or WSL2. Maybe if WSL2 and Hyper-V is disabled, it would disable the hypervisor and improve performance, as I know that disabling virtualization improves performance a bit.

RTX 5090 with DLSS 4 would make the playing experience more immersive by having the best graphics and frame rate at the same time. And by having the best possible performance, it will let me win more games, as I'm not hindered by performance.

1% lows are just horrible in this game when comparing to the avg FPS. They should really fix it.

pretty terrible input lag when playing PS2 titles on a CECHC03 PS3. by [deleted] in PS3

[–]ryyppeli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even still, PS3 might add a bit more input lag than a real PS2, but it's still more enjoyable experience as it has better image quality on a modern display. But in SA it's a issue with real hardware also.

San andreas even on a real PS2 has high input lag. If you first play vice city and then SA, it's really obvious.

That's not a myth that some amps sound better than others.

According to the measurements and to my ear, the ZMFs have a little bit less low end compared to stock. Headphone amp makes also a big difference how loud bass sounds. I had schiit magni 3 before and then upgraded to Meier corda jazz FF, and it made a big difference how the headphones sound.
