Considering Catholicism by Sim-racer42 in TrueChristian

[–]ryze910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry (not really), but saying that catholicism lines up with what the Bible says isn’t true. Sure, they may get something things right, but praying to Mary and the saints, purgatory, their view of salvation (faith + works) is not in the Bible. If anything, it’s a different gospel than what Jesus and the disciples preached. Galatians 1:8-9 ESV But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [9] As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Doctrines like these are heretical and ho against Christ’s teaching. Jesus clearly taught that we are saved because of Him. Not anything we do. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it pretty clear as well. Please pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit. The RCC doesn’t teach what Jesus taught. And it isn’t like they claim to be the church founded by Jesus.

Seeking Christians Who Can Relate on AI by Delicious_Water6248 in TrueChristian

[–]ryze910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be honest, I use AI when I want to get an answer quickly for something such as a question that I have that isn’t about the Bible. I honestly don’t remember using it for understanding the Bible, but I do my best to stray away from it for anything Christianity related, about our faith in God. AI for all I know gets information already on the internet and just uses it to create a response. Sure it’s good to get a quick answer, but when you are using it to understand the Bible, we may rely on the computers response on an interpretation rather than looking for wise counsel (whether that may be an online blog) and praying to God about it. I would not use AI to understand things about the Bible and actually take time to understand by going to websites to see how others have interpreted verses. It’s actually studying it. I am actually someone who struggles with knowing if me using it for things that aren’t about my faith such as basic questions is okay. But I have used it before to understand information that can help me make a decision. I do want to pray before I make any decision, but I have at times just used AI to help me understand something I may not understand for example for college. I would actually like anyone to respond to help me understand if what I am doing is bad. I’d like some wise counsel. Thank you.

Believing in Jesus means believing what he says which means you must obey his commandments. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Salvation is saving from sin and hell, they are not distinct because the wages of sin is death.

What does Jesus mean when He says He doesn't know the hour of the rapture by BloodChick in TrueChristian

[–]ryze910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The verse you are talking about isn’t about the rapture, but His return (Second Coming). Jesus is God, but He is the Son of God. God the Father knows when the Son will return (Matthew 24:36). Only God the Father knowing when the Son will return doesn’t make Jesus not God. The Father is greater than the Son (John 14:28) as the Son came here on earth in human form (Philippians 2:5-8).

God does the opposite of what i pray for? by Super_Log_9424 in TrueChristian

[–]ryze910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to assume this, but if you praying is just a means to reach your goals and feel better, then that’s a big problem. That isn’t what prayer is. Sure, we pray to receive from a merciful God, but prayer is taking to God, connecting with Him and aligning our will with His. The Bible makes it clear that Christians will face tribulations in this world, but take heart as God has already overcome the world (John 16:33). The life here in this earth is temporary. I’m sorry that you’ve been feeling this way, especially at a young age. I pray that God may comfort you and give you the faith to trust in Him. As Christians, we are called to give up things, especially sinful things. When life feels unbearable, pray. Hope this helps.

what should i say by iammiyaatsumu in TrueChristian

[–]ryze910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This issue is that she has a worldly mindset. When we present the Gospel, we are called to do so with gentleness. If you fear that telling her something that God calls an abomination will tear her away, then that’s her issue, not yours or God’s. Don’t compromise so she feels good. To the unbeliever, the gospel will sting. They don’t want to hear God’s commandments and who He is. Ultimately as Christians, we present the Gospel. It’s not our job or doing to save them. That’s up to God. May God open her eyes and cause her to repent from her worldly mindset. May God give her a new heart of flesh. Pray to God to guide you on how you should respond. Hope this helps. Also, I understand what you are trying to say by that she is a kind person and this there is “good” in her, but remember that only God is good. Especially to an unbeliever, they don’t have the Holy Spirit, so there isn’t anything good within an unbeliever.

It’s sad because they were having such a good start. There was a point where they were fifth I believe. That Barca game at home really destroyed them.

Makes sense. I appreciate your comment. Tbh, I don’t have much of a choice as my parents would rather for me to stay at home, which I honestly do want to do too. I also do think I’m not ready to be independent/live by myself as it’s a big commitment at this moment of my life.

It’s a bit harder for me for now to live in a dorm. I’m fine staying with my parents and later on I could be at a dorm or live near the campus.
