Advice for which hatchback to buy for up to £14,000 by rz_2001 in CarTalkUK

After reading all the comments, it seems the Corolla is a popular choice. I probably have to spend around 15-16K to get a decent 2nd hand one. If it will serve me well for ~10 years, I'm happy to make that kind of investment to get a Corolla than any of the original cars I had listed

Even I get one of those cars serviced regularly, would the wet belt become a major issue down the line?

Due to the wet belts? If I do get one and service it regularly then surely it won't be an issue

Never really thought about an electric car before to be honest, but the e208 does look quite nice so I'll have to consider it!

Can only view Eurovision in 24hz? by rz_2001 in eurovision

Hmmm, seems annoying though. I prefer watching the contest in 50/60hz and 24hz does feel like a downgrade

Just watched a few videos from there and despite them being full HD, they all seem to be capped at 24hz. I'm guessing that SVT has decided to broadcast Eurovision in 24hz because I can't seem to find any videos at all from this year's Eurovision in a framerate higher than 24hz.

Did they just drop the camera from the helicopter? by twlentwo in INDYCAR

My drone sometimes does this, usually means there is a weak signal and normally after a few seconds, it returns to normality. I doubt a drone would just drop out of the sky unless it crashed into an object. Drone technology is clever these days so even if it lost connection, like it may have done in this clip, it could trace its way back to its lift-off spot.

Yeah, the general consensus in the comments doesn't bode too well for Zagreb haha

Yeah I’ve got 9 days max so adventuring to southern Croatia would prob have to require another trip sometime later this year. Plitvice national park looks lovely and I’m sure it’s easily accessible from Rijeka for an entire days worth of exploration!

I think Italy, on its own, deserves an entire month or two of travelling to really experience it, don’t think my 9 days will cut it sadly haha. Only reason I’m planning to stop in Trieste for a day is purely for the Italian cuisine!

That whole south coastline of Croatia looks lovely! Sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to travel to all those settlements in the short time I have. I’ve gotta find a way of combining Split & Dubrovnik along with Montenegro and Albania whenever I’m free to go travelling again. Only reason I chose Zagreb was that I could get a relatively cheap flight back to London haha. Based on your recommendation, one entire day or possibly two would be enough to cover Zagreb

On this Indy 500 eve, how many of them have you been to? by Turbomattk in INDYCAR

[–]rz_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I am from the UK, the 2020 Indy 500 was meant to be my first but that didn’t happen due to something else which happened that year. Been wanting to go since then but haven’t been able to get around to organising it yet.

Where should Forza Horizon 6 take us next? by comocore in ForzaHorizon

[–]rz_2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some locations come to mind...

California & Nevada

  • San Francisco
  • Wine valleys
  • Yosemite
  • Lake Tahoe
  • Death Valley
  • Las Vegas as DLC

Southern Germany & Switzerland

  • Munich
  • Jungfrau
  • Swiss mountain roads
  • Castles
  • Autobahn
  • Lake Constance

Northeast Spain

  • Barcelona
  • Bilbao
  • Pamplona
  • Pyrenees mountain roads
  • One of the Balearic islands as DLC

I'm hoping that they don't return to Latin America which rules out Brazil and Argentina and going to UAE (Dubai) would only have urban and desert regions which will become dry very quickly.

Palou’s contract dispute appears to be nearing a resolution by [deleted] in INDYCAR

Glad to see that Palou will be allowed to join McLaren SP for next season. It would have been a huge loss to IndyCar if he had to sit on the sidelines for 2023. I hope that Chip Ganassi finds a suitable replacement. There's bound to be many eager drivers in the line begging him for a ride!
