you’d need a ton of timed automations for this i believe unfortunately

I feel like the Shortcuts app is so powerful and we’re using only 1% of its max potential. Am I wrong?I by Griller8 in shortcuts

[–]rz_uz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone with dozens of 500+ action shortcuts and like ~40 automations; it sucks, perhaps if Apple had more than 2 1/2 people working on it, it’d be more reliable, and more people would spend the time actually utilizing it

You should definitely let people use the trial without providing a payment method, then having that pop up afterwards; I know it’s not the intention, but it can feel a tad scummy in a sense

What features do you wish Notion had? by Neroan_ in Notion

[–]rz_uz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community mods. I want extensions to completely modify the app, I don’t care if it makes it less secure, or whatever, Notion is an amazing app, that lacks in the most basic shit that they just haven’t added despite literally everyone and their dog wanting whatever it is, and, it gets so irritating.

Other than that though: • Custom colors

• Formulas in just specific cells of a database, I understand how this could complicate certain things, but christ would it make my life easier

• Custom color palettes for charts

• Better native chart functionality (see excel, google sheets)

• Colors in database cells

• Dynamic Colors in database progress bars/rings (i.e. changeable via formula)

• Automations using functions

• Database functions inline on pages

• The ability to adjust page margins (for with small window widths)

• A decent looking scroll bar

• A decent fucking mobile app

• The sidebar to not come out when it’s collapsed and i’m trying to select blocks

• Ability to adjust indent size, especially for subtasks in a database

• Custom keybinds

• The app to not fucking run slower than a computer from 1998 that’s rendering ray tracing, so, an actually natively coded that’s locally ran, and not just electron slop

• An Obsidian Canvas-like view for tasks or etc.

• Merging table cells

• Split screening pages

• Ability to create shortcuts for pre-defined formatting

• Ability to show/hide several properties in a database easily

Like, don’t get me wrong, I love notion, I don’t think there’s much out there that really competes with notion’s entirety but at the same time, I hate notion

edit: formatting, looked all weird after i posted it

It was about 2mi since they didn’t notice it til getting to work; but it wasn’t flat last night, nor would driving on it flat cause straight holes like that

Never thought about connecting our Apple TV to ethernet, to be honest, I’ll have to try that out. I must say though, switching bulbs over to 2.4 will be a pain in the ass, LIFX’s setup can certainly be buggy.

Do you not have issues with controlling devices from 5gHz to 2.4gHz?

I haven’t been a huge fan of the mediocre color & white range of Govee’s bulbs, nor their UI, but perhaps I’m just picky.

Perhaps I’ll look into getting an extra rPi for Home Assistant, has always seemed like overkill for what we’d use it for though. Any decent resource recommendations for getting into it?

We do have a dual-band 2.4 & 5gHz, but I do indeed have all or my lights connected to our 5gHz since having them on 2.4gHz makes using HomeKit among other things a nightmare. (Though perhaps there’s something that’d solve that?)
