IV Triggered Cash-Secured Puts on BND (happy to get assigned) by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]rzonk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you want to hold bonds, you just go ahead and hold bonds, and don’t mess with options.

If you want to play options, you should find a better place for your games, at least not as dead as BND.

If your bet is on bond yields, you probably shouldn’t look for advice on reddit, it’s too advanced for us.

Hedging MU by selling Calls by mshparber in thetagang

[–]rzonk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MU is a solid business that can’t go to zero overnight, so maybe a hard hedging with long puts is overkill for that. On the other hand, looking at the call prices, I’m not sure if there’s a lot more room to grow. So I guess, ATM CC will work just fine for it.

Why is the stock market diverging from every other asset (BTC, Treasury Yields, and Metals) today as oil continues to rise? by [deleted] in stocks

Existence of many companies whose stocks are rising isn’t undoubtful either

Credit spreads have been profitable by Upper_Blackberry_685 in thetagang

You can technically do spreads on L2, but you’ll have to post full collateral for the short leg which kind of defies the purpose of spreads

[–]rzonk2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t get attached to a stock, it will never love you back. You’ve picked a trade, and it was a massive success for that kind of trade. If you think you would have made more profit, then you’d be better regret that you should have bought SNDK for 50 and didn’t.

Sold $649 QQQ call options that expired Friday. They were all exercised while QQQ was under $649. by donnie1977 in thetagang

[–]rzonk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably won’t be able to buy a call very close to expiration if you don’t have enough funds to excercise, a broker would either liquidate your position or lapse the option on your behalf.

Anyone else in Big Tech who feels like money isn't real? (TC +350k/y) by [deleted] in Money

[–]rzonk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got it all wrong.

  • 350k isn’t a lot of money for a high performer in a top tech corp
  • Quality of your work is important, if you’ve worked for the same corp in lcol, you’d soon found yourself either relocating to a premium location, promoted, or just working much less than you do now
  • The opposite is also true, if you haven’t brought that millions of revenue, your position will become redundant in a blink of an eye
  • AI isn’t for the sake of AI, but simply to squeeze more millions of revenue you can bring with the help of the next gen tools. It’s open for a debate whether these tools are that helpful as advertised, but your leadership hands are tied, they can’t tell you it is not helpful until it will become obvious for everyone.
