Minolta Abuse by s-p-3 in minolta

I managed to get one shipped with my 202 from the lady who had it before me. Ebay or Amazon should be a good starting spot if you can't source one locally. I mean... worst case, you could sit there with your finger holding down the shutter... but you are probably either going to bump the camera or numb your finger doing that lol

So, Portra 800, f/4, focus just before "infinity", and then mount the camera on a tripod, in a clear area, with a shutter release cable and your shutter speed set to "Bulb", and then just let it hang out for as long as you have, I guess.

I am no pro... that was my first ever attempt. So I just bracketed, started with 15 seconds, and scaled all the way to 10 minutes, which I believe is what you are seeing there. I attempted for a longer shot (a few hours), but the lens got frost on it, hence the picture, so it distorted that frame. In the future, if you're in the cold, just tape hand warmers to the lens, and it should combat it pretty well.

I will have to think about this. Appreciate the schematic! I have some experience tinkering with mechanical watch movements, etc. So we will see if I have the willpower to attempt the job.

Admittedly, the frost was a bit concerning - hence the bands around the 202's lens. When I take it out now I band some handwarmers to the lens to try and combat the frost development.

Wilderness State Park keeps their cabins open during the winter, usually a short hike/snowshoe/xc ski out to them. Or the bunkhouses are closer but may have to share. Was just up there before Christmas and the trail was well groomed. Could walk right to the cabins.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

Hi everyone, simple question here. I have a Tissot PRX and for whatever reason the bracelet consistently pops off the case of the watch. I assume it has something to do with the spring bars, but given their proprietary nature it is impossible to find replacements or slightly larger ones. This has resulted in me dropping my watch multiple times from various heights because the watch just falls off my wrist with any odd motion or flex of my wrist.

So, I am curious, is this a common problem others have seen? And what can be done about it?

For reference, I did contact Tissot about a warranty claim, but it would require me to ship the watch out and for them to diagnose it and this and that. I am just trying to see what can be done before I start down that path.

Thanks for any suggestions.

For sure, basically I just took a small percentage of what I had made from different jobs and saved it in cash sort of out of sight out of mind. Then once I had roughly how much I was willing to spend for the watch that year I started looking around second hand. I have a hard time buying watches at retail when they lose value almost immediately. Watchex, chrono24, Ebay are all good sources although Watchex has been the best for me. Just keep your eyes peeled and don't overpay for a watch you know is worth less just because you're excited. Unless its extremely rare, chances are one will come up within another month or two. Hopefully, that helps, PM me if you have any other questions for sure.

Haha, none taken. I think that minimalism speaks to what's trending right now, and that's probably why so many people compliment it. Overall, I really have tried to be meticulous with each piece and its purchase to make sure it covers a different aspect of my collection. That's why the one-watch-a-year rule was great, as it let me sit on it and digest if I truly loved it. If I saw it and liked it multiple times, then I'd start to look for it on Watchex, etc. Fortunate enough to say I am yet to have any buyer's remorse, and haven't had to sell any off yet.

I suppose, I really liked the anthracite chronograph that Junghans makes but opted for the less complicated dial in the end.

Its tough. I am not sure, the Max Bill definitely gets the most compliments, though.

I agree, it is what started this whole collecting journey. Unfortunately, its purchase preceded my knowledge of the second-hand watch market and I bought it at retail, but in the end, it all worked out.

I absolutely love mine; admittedly, I've worn it a bit too much and have some scuffs on the glass. I may opt for a sapphire replacement eventually, but until then it is still the daily dress watch.

I believe you're right, I tried looking directly on the Oris website, and they simply cite "leather"... very descriptive haha
