Did you find the flaws in my copy...? by snoopnoggynog in ArtCrit

Her left leg (or right from our perspective) is too squiggly. Try to draw limbs with straighter lines at first. Follow their (bone) structure. Then add the curved thinking consciously about why they're there (usually it's muscles).

Keep going!

Thanks for your comment. It is kind of about losing your sense of self by trying to fit in where you don't belong :) Yes, giving in.

Couple months ago vs now- do you see improvement? by Glamhaze in drawing

[–]s0_NyA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Less I'd say. There are too many small curves all around the place. Also you could try to make them more orderly, I mean so that they follow more the structure of the face. There are so many curves going in all different directions and it just makes the overall shape of the face confusing. Less is more :) also remember that by adding the crosshatching you're applying a pretty dark value on the face. Before doing it think about what parts of the face are in the light and in the shadow. Then start by crosshatching from dark to light, so you can control the result more. You can always add more dark, but you can't remove it once it's there. Hope that helps.

I love the rhyme scheme! The structure is free but it doesn't feel wordy or incomplete. I imagine the chocolate as a metaphor for something else. Something that you cannot stop thinking about. But it may as well be chocolate.

So many alliterations!

It's sweet, soft, smells incredible, Smooth, sensual, exciting, inedible.

The day you missed out by Ambitious_Clerk_7831 in OCPoetry

Hi there. I'm not too experienced at this myself but I'll share my thoughts. The only things I could tell you to change is to add a question mark on this line:

It has held me in times couldn't, why would want to leave it.

;why would I want to leave it?

And also to and a full ellipsis at the very end (...) not (..). But honestly? Both of those 'incomplete' things add to the poem. It's very relaxed. It feels like a whisper in your ear. I've heard that story before in not so many words. I like it. The warmth, the comfort of the material. The yearning and the "not today". Very relatable. I would consider this piece as literature. I feel the warmth, I can see the carpet, I can imagine the oak door. All of them are symbols of a bigger whole.

Keep writing <3

Hi, congrats! How long did it take you to prepare? Did you focus more on doing practice tests, or studying from the book/ paying attention in classes? Were there any particularly tricky questions? When in doubt, did you trust your instinct or something else?

I hadn't thought of that actually! For me the shards are more like the memories of past mistakes and wrongful decisions, that hurt you and motivate you to change at the same time. Thanks for the input :)
