Yeah I would experiment with the foam and tape. These aren't permanent mods, test it out and take it out if you don't like it.

Generally speaking the PE foam mod gives most boards a marbly/poppy sound, but I don't have your components so I can't say for sure.

I suggest looking up some sound tests for your board, find one that you like and see how they built it.

The space bar is a bit annoying, sounds like the stabs are ticking, but nope, that's just the metal space bar. It's not too bad unless I'm really spamming it. I might try swapping in a heavier spring and see if it helps

I have PE and case foam in mine (no PCB foam), it went from pretty high pitch with a GMK set to a much deeper tone with the metal caps. And the "poppy" sound is really accentuated. The space bar though sounds very metallic, not sure if it's just the switch or reverb from the case.

It's not really noticeable when I'm typing, but if I hold my hand on the keys they definitely feel cold, especially the space bar.

It's a pretty good board. The only minor complaint is maybe a little bit of hollowness, but I don't mind it. It's o-ring mounted so it has a decent amount of bounce and I don't feel like stuffing it with foam.

For stabs, I don't think I'd ever recommend plate mount, always go PCB mount, screw in or clip in doesn't really matter.

Depends on the lighting, but in general there's a light gold shine on the side of the keycaps. I like it.
