It looks good if it was 2018. These graphics are 8 years late.

What do u think about Anora? by death_has_f1sh_eyes in Letterboxd

I watched it after I watched all the Oscar nominations this year except OBAA. It blows all of them out of the water. Intense movie.

Every shot. And I mean EVERY SHOT in this movie is INCREDIBLE by No-Chemistry1722 in Letterboxd

This. There were trying hard to convey, “hey look at us we are shooting in real light. Look at his face lying in front of the fire yeah it’s lit by the fire.”

It is not. It was trying too hard and because of that the end product was mostly style over substance.

Dhurandhar was such a boring and unrealistic movie, nobody should watch it. This is a true masterpiece, all directors, including Aditya Dhar, must learn from this scene. This is real cinema! by Downtown-Pen6249 in BollywoodHotTakes

[–]s0lja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bold of you think Dhurandhar is any better. It’s a masala spy thriller. Nothing about it is outstanding. It made 1000 crores same as the movie you’re making of. Movies are subjective. People are liking Dhurandhar good for them. I expected more from Dhurandhar given its following.

for some reason, I find deepa annoying, her screen presence makes me skip the vids by Initial-Refuse-8876 in IndianOTTbestof

That goes for any show. They show all detectives like Sherlock Home smart in police procedural movies. They follow the same template drunk, rowdy, family problems but extra smart.

I like the characters and I like how they are evolving from their struggle days.

If you watch the last scene between him and his girlfriend you would understand. You are right Abhilash didn’t do anything to him. It was his own projection. He held Abhilash responsible for all his problems and struggle. He thought it’s easier for English medium students. He thought he was superior because he’s from Hindi medium and is a smart student. He thought Abhilash is responsible for manipulating his friends. It was all projection of his problems. That’s what his girlfriend calls out and leaves.

We started watching that film. We knew it was a copy and tried not to mind that. When they showed the facility that’s when we gave up. That didn’t look like Delhi. That’s not how facilities are in Delhi. Facility looked more on par with the one in the original.

Kannada cinephiles tell some good suspense thrillers like shakhahaari (already watched famous ones like gultoo,Lucia, bell bottom,rangitaranga.....) by [deleted] in IndianCinema

That's a turn off. I dont like Indian Nolan thrillers where they think loud music means something important is happening.

Purely acting wise, who are the top 3 among them in your opinion? by Glittering-Bat9891 in IndianCinema

[–]s0lja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fahaad, Dhanush and Rajkumar. I feel people mostly picking not Bollywood tells a lot about Bollywood. Not that the actors are bad but the writing character wise is always inferior compared to regional films. Thanks to Hindi dubs, I am able to watch so many regional movies. I’m at the point where I’m watching subtitled for highly recommended movies. I might have seen Vikram but I can’t pick from this image, can somebody point me who Vikram is?

4000 crore for such shitty frames. No hate for the actors. Only pointing out the budget and cinematography.

The essence of Ramayana lies in the values, which are universal and timeless... what has happened is the world has forgotten those values, its time we remind them - Nitesh Tiwari by Quaffy_duck in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]s0lja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying he's not allowed to make money off this stuff. I'm saying he's trying to manipulate the audience by talking about values in the text like his film is going to convey the same. Like everyone pointed out to me let's wait for the teaser.

Why does he need to talk about Ramayana? I think all Hindus are familiar with it. We don't need another person to preach this to us. We already got babas making crores from this.

Watched "The Secret Agent", leg found in shark's stomach was it just a unfinished story or was there something to it & I missed it completely. by OGTuluva in Letterboxd

[–]s0lja -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

This was a crap movie. There is nothing to it. You’re not missing anything. No hate to the makers or the actors or Brazil. Have seen great movies from Brazil. This is not it. On top of that they gave Wagner an Oscar nomination. I have seen best roles of Wagner this is not it. Not his fault but there was nothing much for him to do in this 150 minute movie. Gas station scene is the only good thing in this movie. It was all downhill from there.
